The Chapel gas works park seattle was really an altar of the Saint with a replica of the Bastion at her feet, semi enclosed in an apse-like shrine with a series of gleaming white steps leading up to its pedestal. The steps and the altar apse are what can be seen gleaming on the hillside from far below. The Saint’s statue was backed by rough brick and surrounded with a wire mesh, and wedged in between the mortar and bricks were dozens of folded slips of paper. It has spectacular views of the lake and gas vs electric stove top Riva del Garda downtown and the surrounding Arco valley. I mean SPECTACULAR!!! According to the Trentino trekking site, Riva del Garda is at 65m, the Bastione lies at 200m, the Santa Barbara Hut is at 570m (with a washroom), and the Santa Barbara Chapel lies f gas certification logo at a final 620m. The views, however, make trekking gas after eating yogurt up to the final destination a must…. you just can’t stop at the hut! Hiking the trail in August on a hot, sunny day, covered in sweat and fuelled by a-type personality, stubborn task-completion desire, we achieved the altar absolutely drenched! Even the backs of our hands and fingers were slick with moisture! The Chapel was really an altar of the Saint with a replica gas efficient cars under 5000 of the Bastion at her feet, semi enclosed in an apse-like shrine with a series of gleaming white steps leading up to its pedestal. The Saint’s statue was backed by rough brick and surrounded with a wire mesh, and wedged in between the mortar and bricks were dozens gas and water llc of folded slips of paper. Covering the floor of the altar were many photos of people, including some children, who had no doubt, passed away. It seemed so sad. I couldn’t help but feel offended that in the midst of what was obviously the pain and suffering of others, there was a guest book to sign, each page with a calendar date, signed often by people with their country of origin and this or that race they were training for. It seemed an invasion of privacy and intimacy. Maybe gasset y ortega filosofia that’s just me. It certainly IS an achievement worth noting, getting up the trail and to that chapel. The chapel was built during the construction of the hydroelectric plant in 1925 and is dedicated to the patron saint of the tgask miners. You can actually stand in the opening of one of the access tunnels… something that you must do if hot sweaty! We discovered this quite by accident. Even if there isn’t a breath of a breeze out there, there is a good rush of wind as air is sucked into those tunnels. Standing in the opening was static electricity zap a much needed, refreshing, experience. I highly recommend this hike, if you can do it. It is STRENUOUS. It is, at times, a rocky and rough trail, it has a lot of high electricity clipart stepping, but it is well marked. One thing to note: the hiking signs here show the approximate TIME LEFT in the hike to various destinations and NOT distances. The hike from the Bastion to the Chapel is a good 50-60 minutes. Much faster on the way down… especially knowing that there is a bar/cafe at the bastion where you can replenish the salt, calories and fluids you’ve lost! One note of warning: there is NO WATER up top at the chapel or the hut to drink. So be sure to carry enough with you. More Show less electricity billy elliot backing track
