We had a garden view this year in building 2 on the end which afforded us a ocean view and a garden view. Room was very clean with our maid doing a wonderful job and with the addition to the requested topper to the bed made it very comfortable. Air Conditioning could have been a little cooler but I figured it was because we were at the end of the building away from the main unit. Water pressure could have been a little better as the wife with her long hair had problems but I could see that the resort had started to replace the water lines into the buildings so maybe next year it will be better. Towel game is played at the beach so had to do the early morning thing along with all the other people to get a spot. Found it funny that the Diamond club section was almost vacant with most of them sitting in the regular beach. Thanks to the beach bar guys and my "Nephew" the server for keeping our mugs full. Special thanks to Roger at the beach grill for all the beer refills at lunch, and the new menus down there are great. The burgers were overboard and very tasty, buffet had a good selection of food this year and you can… This was our sixth visit to the resort and we stayed for two weeks at the first of May. The burgers were overboard and very tasty, buffet had a good selection of food this year and you can always find something to eat. Dessert section was very tasty again this year. Thanks to Janet and the girls there for their service as well as Nelson at the egg station, after the first day never had to tell him what we wanted again. Oralys and Karina at the piano bar are the best and if you want the best Mojito Karina makes it, a special thanks to them. Although the beach was red flagged the first week we did get in at least a day of snorkeling. The second week was a bit windy at first but it started to rain for a full day then on and off for the last two days. But you can’t control the weather and your on vacation. See you next year! My wife and have just returned from our 10th visit to Memories (formerly Breezes) Jibacoa. It was our first visit since the hurricane that devastated the area last September. The damage that is still visible in the surrounding countryside is incredible. The work that was accomplished by the staff of the resort to reopen is amazing. The food in Memories Jibacoa is better than I have had in any other Cuban resort. The buffet is always good but a varied menu is also available for lunch at the beach, snacks by the pool and dinner in an a la carte restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and the snorkeling on the reef at the beach is worth the trip by itself. There is Cuban music playing in the lobby every night and dancing is always encouraged. As with any resort, it is the staff that makes the difference. The people at the front desk, the lobby bar, the buffet, the a la carte restaurants, the tennis court, the pool bar, the snack bar, the aquatic center, grounds keeping, housekeeping, and especially the beach and piano bars! These people are amazing and really go out of their way to make your vacation special!

Our 12th trip to Jibacoa and it did not disappoint. There were days the weather did not cooperate but you adjust and enjoy the staff service and company of the wonderful people you meet at the resort. We had a beautiful upgrade to an Ocean front room which was unexpected and appreciated. The staff at the resort are amazing particularly Yoel, Luis, Kiki, Nelson and Roger. We particularly enjoyed the Cuban day and the entertainment/music for that event. It was great to see the staff partake the Cuban day festivities especially dancing to the music. This was not limited to only entertainment staff but also kitchen staff, cleaning staff and other hotel staff. It truly made our day. The piano bar is also a wonderful and a special thank you to Jorge and the guitar player for making the Piano bar entertaining. My wife enjoyed the singing and some of our friends we met will know who she is !!!. We were satisfied with the meals and Taberna was great. A wonderful part of the trip was meeting a wonderful people from Bridgewater, NS, Antigonish, Nova Scotia and Ontario. This trip only makes us want to return as soon as possible. Thank you to the new manager introducing herself and inquiring about what she could do to make our experience great.
