Saturday morning we started for Triund Hill – its a stretch of 7 km one side, the trek is considered an easy trek by those who are experienced trekkers. But for a moderately fit person like me, i would say it was nice and strenuous. The walk uphill is not a smooth one, its filled with big, small and medium boulders. Am not an expert, but one told me that the incline is about 30 – 35 degrees. It was pretty tiring. Inspite of being December – a cold month otherwise – one felt very hot.

And now the best part – As soon… I traveled with a couple of friends during the Christmas weekend of 2015. We left from Delhi by road in one of the Volvo buses to Mcleodganj. Reached morning of Friday in Mcleodganj, and spent the entire day there by visiting (trekking to infact) a couple of places like Sunset point in Naddi and Bhakshunath temple and waterfall. Just felt like wanting to capture the view in the back of my eyes. My friends and I spent the night there in tents and left from there the next morning by 10 am. For someone not experienced – it is best to book services of a local service provider. They ensure to have one person go with you as a guide or carry a lil bit of stuff. They will arrange for the tents and the sleeping bags etc, and the meals (sumptuous meal – maggie, bread omlette, chicken curry and the likes). We used Try Holidays – but there are many service providers. 2. Shoes need to be comfortable. 3. No need to carry an extra change of clothes. Will not o gascon come handy. Maybe carry an extra jacket. 4. While trekking don’t stop for long duration in between, and do not drink too much water 🙂 (am sure the experts already know this). All in all, my first such trekking experience and I loved it. May possibly return to Triund again, but aspiring to accomplish the tougher ones now 🙂 More Show less
