There are a multitude of surf schools and camps in Lanzarote, and when we were looking at booking this week we emailed them all. The ‘feel and tone’ of most were good enough with their replies, some were down right abrupt. But Lanzasurf was different. They were super friendly and helpful from the off. Me being me was asking question after question and each and every reply from Gabby was not only really cheerful, quick and friendly, but very helpful and reassuring that they could cater for mine and my girlfriends very different weeks. My girlfriend has never surfed before and booked onto a 5 day complete beginner course. I have surfed for several years now and was after a more advanced surf clinic package. Both were super amazing weeks and both our expectations were blown away…

All the instructors, were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and able to tailor their teaching style to each individual surfer – This is not only because they are clearly great at what they do, but also because they keep their surf groups small (unlike some other surf schools in the area), so you feel… In short, this place electricity estimated bills is absolutely EPIC. Book with these guys and you won’t regret it. For a more in-depth review read on… My girlfriend and I have just come home from a weeks surfing with Lanzasurf. As well as all the instruction of how to surf, they impart a wealth of ‘background knowledge’ to make your experience even more well rounded and complete – board shape, wave choice, beach dynamics (rip currents, tides), surf etiquette etc etc etc. Advanced surf clinic – What can is say?…CRAZY AWESOME!!!!!!!! My 1:1 time with Evandro has pushed my surfing forward in huge leaps and bounds. We surfed lots of different spots, (reef, rocky points and beach breaks) on some waves that I normally wouldn’t be too psyched on, yet had a super great time and even on tiny beach breaks I learnt so much. He very quickly saw where I needed improvement in my technique and used a rage of tools to help me do this – from demonstrations in the surf, to skateboard carving sessions it was all really on point. All this leading to my best wave ever on the final day!! 🙂 The yoga gas station near me in the evening with Evandro is the perfect way to chill out and stretch ready for the next days surfing, with options for other yoga classes to cater for different levels of ability/flexibility. Accomodation was really good and there is a wide range of different options to suit everybody’s needs/wallet. Just give gabby a shout and she’ll totally sort you out. Some might think that the lunches provided are bit meagre, but in my opinion it is a good size, with sandwiches, fruit and maybe a muesli bar. Too much food would be a bad idea for the after lunch session. My advice, have a good breakfast before hand to help see you through, then enjoy any of the restaurants and great seafood after the surf in the afternoon/eve. I really cannot recommend Lanzasurf enough and we will definitely be returning for more fun in the sun in the future. For sure!!! More Show less

First I have to begin this review by thanking my daughter who planned and organized this trip. Never in a million years did I ever see myself coming to the Canary Islands to try surfing or even stay at a surf house but I just ended an amazing week of just that. The experience was one that I will cherish for a lifetime. I met incredible people from all over the world, challenged myself physically and mentally and grew as a person. The people at Lanzasurf are just magical. They are able 3 gases that cause acid rain to craft a week of well organized surf instruction, yoga, all through the powerful message of empowerment and the feeling of being part of the Lanzasurf family. I truly feel like I am leaving part of my family here on the other side of the Atlantic! The expert teaching and care I received from all the surfing instructors just went beyond comprehension. No where have I ever felt such care and pure love and joy. They were patient and extremely structured in their teaching so that everyone leaves feeling successful in whatever they are able to do. Patricia, Evandro, Gabby, Gordon, Cecil, and everyone else were just awesome. Especially mi Patricia. Ti amo mucho. Siempre tienes una familia en Nueva York! Xxoo Gracias por todo! I returned this summer to continue surfing with Lanzasurf as I spent an awesome time last summer in one of their surf houses in Caleta de Famara in Calle Quilla. It was altogether perfect: service around the accommodation/surf classes/extra programme such as Yoga, skateboard lessons and so on. It was the exact opposite to what I had to experience this year at Alessandro’s surf house (see my comment at their site, just awful, over prized , no chance to have sleep at nights, dirty, unprofessional communication) – and shows that not every surf school electricity office works as professional as Lanzasurf does it. Next time I would either try to get a room with Lanzasurf or prefer an Air BnB. This years instructors I already knew : Gordon’s fantastic in explaining /coaching as well as lovely Patricia – both super kind, motivated and relaxed with o gosh good senses to deal with different sorts of clients at all surf levels. Kind of the essence of the school. This year some new faces tought me as well – a nice advantage as you can learn always different hacks and tips from other instructors such as Cecilio (good physical knowledge, nice stretches and very good feedback/coaching style with focus on the little things). I also like the flexibility at this school: if one needs one day rest or has some sightseeing stuff booked on the island your surfing day is not just gone but shifted. Same concerning little injures as I had one this time. The tell YOU not to surf instead of risking your health just for the money. Even nicer than last year: improved communication via the whatsapp group so that communication among class members became easier. Also the organization of the side programme (yoga, massages, meet-ups, links to pics from surfing). Gabby appears to be a really lovely, caring and super friendly add up to the team and I would describe her as the good ghost of the team 🙂 Lanzasurf has been recommended to me by friends who surfed with Evandro’s team for many years. You still feel the passion and love for surfing and being a family :o) Already checking next flights 🙂
