I cannot recommend Habla enough. I was enrolled in the Spanish Immersion program electricity billy elliot backing track at Habla for two and a half months as part of my Gap year. I came to Mérida alone, as an 18-year-old who didn’t speak the native language. The director of Habla, Marimar, was very kind and helpful and answered my myriad of questions before I arrived. She arranged a host family for me to stay with, and she went out of her way to place me in a home with two other girls my age (who I now can call my Mexican sisters). All the teachers and staff at Habla are incredibly helpful, enthusiastic and kind. For several weeks I had one-on-one Spanish classes with my teacher Alejo. The individual attention pass gas in spanish was incredible, especially since I came to Mexico only knowing about 5 words of Spanish. All my classes were dynamic and interesting; each week I learned about a new subject matter, and the readings, videos, songs I listened to throughout the week revolved around grade 6 electricity test the theme. We were provided with delicious breakfast and lunch everyday. Two days a week we had a workshop, which varied from cooking classes, watching films, learning photography, listening to music, and salsa classes. I always felt welcome and cared for at Habla; the staff is dedicated to making sure you have the best experience possible. I highly recommend taking classes at Habla if you want to learn Spanish even for a week (you pay on a week-to-week basis through PayPal). The teachers and staff tailor the teaching style to fit your needs, and you really learn a lot. After my short stay I would say I am semi-fluent in Spanish, and feel my level electricity vocabulary is the equivalent of two years of high school Spanish.

As an elementary school teacher looking to improve my spanish language skills, I have attended several Spanish language schools throughout Mexico. HABLA is the most superior by far! Marimar, the director, has created a one of a kind learning environment. The staff are some of the most creative, compassionate, and compelling people I have ever met. The curriculum is well planned, engaging, thought provoking, collaborative and very effective. Art, culture and history are integrated into the language lessons. You are not learning the language through a dull text, but by reading interesting articles, poems and/or excerpts from historical text. You will create art, poems, and music and perform or present your work with your group at the end of the week. It is one of the most memorable learning experiences you will ever have. It IS that amazing. Teachers: check out the Summer Teacher Institute and Habla’s Best Practice Handbook. So inspiring! I can not wait to return! Love o goshi technique You HABLA and my most favorite teacher ever, Alejo.
