Anyone tired of talking about warranty – page 6 gas jockey

well went to the dealer today, I had a bunch of small problems and the guy seemed overwhelmed, especially after he heard my warranty is up in a month or so. when I was telling him the problems he just wrote them down and didn’t say anything else, but later after I mentioned warranty is up in a month. at the very end of the conversation he was like ok some of those they might not be covered by warranty or they might, if the tech needs to spend more time to investigate the problem we going to need to charge a diagnose fee. then I said but it’s the bumper to bumper warranty it’s covered, then he was like I am not sure I will do my best. he put down 0 in the repair order but he was like I will call you if some of those can’t be covered. wtf? so unsure and iffy but I still got the bumper to bumper warranty valid??? anyways if they don’t fix it I can always go to another daeler right? will another dealer see in computer that another dealer denied the repair and they won’t fix it? seems to remember that I read people just go to other dealers but not very sure heh.

oh the recall where the doors might open by itself while driving, he said it’s unavailable, said they are still making the parts. but I got the recall in the mail then when I get to dealer they say can’t fix it yet? weird and what’s the point of mailing out the recall. he said to wait for another mail when the parts becomes available. is it the same for you guys?

One thing to keep in mind is that Dealer’s look for Service Writers that are good with customer service. They prefer Service Writers with little or no automotive experience. With that in mind, some of the issues that you have may not be warrantable. It all depends on the root cause. If something is worn out, bent, broken, etc, it is not going to be warrantable because it is not a fault from the factory. Additionally, some things such as requesting module or radio updates, regular maintenance, etc, are not covered under warranty.

Engineering reviewed the documentation, performed and investigation and determined what the issue is. In this case, the third party parts supplier did not make the handles correctly. It is up to the supplier to make the parts correctly to repair the vehicles that are on the road. Having documentation can help them find an issue faster and save them hard labor in troubleshooting, i’ve always found that they like it a lot so they can get to the bottom of the issue quicker. This may not work or it may work, if you get denied, try another dealer but find one you can build a good relationship with. If it just keeps getting denied, suck it up and pay for it. Ford isn’t supposed to cover most of the modded cars we have but they usually tend to do so anyways.
