The key to the electric all-wheel drive is the intelligent networking of numerous control systems. Four wheel drive is apparently a real advantage on electric cars as opposed to ICE cars. When buying electricity vs magnetism my last car I was reluctant to buy a quattro system on a Audi as 1/ it seemed a hugely complicated system that could prove problematic (unreliable) in high mileages 2/ it was a pretty heavy system 3/ makes your car sip a bit more fuel (except perhaps on the new “ultra” system quattro). On top of that it takes some place, transmission tunnel etc. With electric cars, none of those problems, on the contrary it can use less kW as using several electric motors can be used to have a higher gear ratio on one of them to use one highways, as I understood it at least. A little more range (+30%) , more fast charging stations at a even higher charging rate (200 kWh) and a 20% price reduction and I may consider an EV after my good old A6 TDI gas vs diesel cars.
