On a 2 week trip to west coast Florida, we visited Fort Myers Beach, Captiva Island and Longboat Key. This was our favorite VRBO condo that we stayed in, and we loved the town! The condo looks just like what’s pictured (maybe better)… I actually texted the owner to find out where she got the patio chairs from, they were so comfortable! The owner was super easy to get a hold of if we had any questions/comments/concerns, and went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. There are 4 apartment-like condos in her building, and maybe a total of 12 on the property… we were there during ‘busy season’ (February 2018) and it felt like we had the place to ourselves, which was really nice. The beach was empty, and there were about 20 lounge chairs to choose from each day. She’s got beach umbrellas, small coolers, balls, shovels/sand pails in the condo to borrow. Tons of beach towels. All you need to bring is the beer and bathing suits! (Side note: pick up ice at the grocery store, the ice machine can’t keep up with filling coolers or making lots of pitchers of frozen drinks). Restaurants in the area are nice, and we picked up fresh seafood and crab claws from a fish market to eat at home 2 nights. The kitchen has the essentials– pots, pans, silverware, plates, cups, but also has a few fun things, like an awesome blender, crab cracking tools, lots of storage containers. There are 2 playgrounds close by for young kids. We didn’t use the swimming pool, but there were lots of lounge chairs, and the pool got full sun all day. The owner had a pack and play available to use, which was super helpful with a 20 month old!

Our only complaints were with the building itself– this is a 2nd story condo, but really it’s on the 3rd floor. Nice to not have anyone above you, but the stairs aren’t fun to lug suitcases up and down. The laundry room is in a different building, but it’s FREE (way better than $4 we had to pay in Captiva!). The trash bins are at the front of the property.
