We had a nice week in Exuma over new years. We were given directions to the home which are INCORRECT. It was pouring rain, and directions say to turn at the street right after the Palms at Three Sisters. This hotel does not exist anymore!! It is now YOLO. The directions also said to call Steve. Steve does NOT work with this home anymore!! Luckily he was very nice and helped us find the house. We had to call him a couple of times. Please update your directions and contact!!! It took us over an hour to find the house, when it would have been 10 minutes if they had been correct. The house is simple but nice. The master bed is very uncomfortable and needs a new bed frame as well. A window in the master is also boarded up?? The air conditioning does not work in the 3rd bedroom. The bathrooms are nice. Also, all of the info on the island that you have in your notebook is very out of date. Some of this information would have been helpful to send to us before we arrived. Flo that manages the house was very nice and helpful. We loved the beach across the street. Very quiet and beautiful. Cocoa Plum beach was our favorite and we loved La Fuschette restaurant.

We are sorry that you found the directions confusing and got lost getting to the rental. As you said we are only 10 minutes away from the airport, however sometimes trying to find your way around a new and unfamiliar place can be somewhat challenging under the best of circumstances and the fact that you also experienced inclement weather, it is understandable that you got lost. Your reference to Steve though is confusing as we have never employed a property manager by that name.

The Palms at the Three Sisters Resort still exists and it is a landmark on the island. The restaurant at the hotel recently changed its name to YOLO and perhaps that sign is more visible. The list of FAQs that was sent to you a couple months prior to your arrival contained up to date information including tour companies that you requested. While we endeavour to provide the most updated information, things do change on the island. We will look to reviewing and updating as required.

There are no boarded up windows but we do have hurricane shutters in place in the event that they are required. As to the bed frame and air conditioning unit you mentioned, we will look into it and replace as necessary. We are glad that you liked the house, the beach and the island.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Gary and Vee’s place on Great Exuma last week. Prior to the trip, they were always available to answer questions about logistics, places to eat and grocery shop, and things to do on the island. They had very clear documentation to support it with contact information and names; this removed a lot of anxiety as this was our first time on the island. Upon arrival, we were able to immediately get in touch with our local contact on the island who met us on the main road and took us directly to the cottage. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. Note: If Gary and Vee tell you something, you can take it to the bank – everything was coordinated as they had communicated during the booking process. The home is right down the street from access to Three Sisters Beach; I saw one person on this beach the entire time we were there and that was at sunrise when I was having coffee and the other person was out for a walk. If you want a beautiful setting to get away, this is your place. After a long day at Three Sisters or any other local beach, we typically relaxed in the front yard or on the back porch and watched the sunset; a sight to behold every day. The recommendations for dining were all great from various perspectives; service, scenery, food, and atmosphere. Needless to say, this trip was a success – Gary and Vee, thank you so much for you clear communication, availability, and sharing your place with us! – Kevin and Caroline Stone

Our experience in this vacation home in Exuma, Bahamas more than exceeded our expectations! With all the comforts and amenities of home, we quickly fell in love with this residence. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The customer service from both the owner Gary and Flo (the contact on Exuma for HomeAway) was prompt and exceptional. It was obvious that they cared very much and it was important to them that we had a wonderful experience and vacation.

Our vacation was fantastic! The closest beach is directly across the street and is very private with beautiful powdery sand and lovely scenery, we never saw anyone else there. There are many highlights of our experience on Exuma. As we were there for two weeks, we were able to see and do everything we had hoped to do. Our favourite meals were at the Grand Isle Resort, Agusta Bay, Frankie Bananas (all you can eat on Fridays) and The Hideaway at Palm Bay. We enjoyed Catch a Fire but found it the most expensive. If you plan on going on any excursions, we felt the best one was the day long trip that included swimming with pigs, visiting Stocking Island where the famous Chat & Chill is, snorkeling in caves and visiting celebrity homes. There are a few different Charters that do these excursions. We visited many different beaches that can be located on a map, Tropic of Cancer was well worth the drive. You can pick up all the pamphlets at the airport. We visited Grand Isle Resort several times, it is about 7 minutes away from this home. It was very reasonable ($30 per day pass) and we had access to all their facilities: a beautiful pool, towels, lovely beach on Emerald Bay and water sports. The restaurant there had lots of variety and was priced well. We felt it was was well worth the money. A car is recommended to fully enjoy this amazing island. The dry food and Crystal Light concentrate/powdered drinks that we brought in our suitcase were a great idea and helped keep the costs down.
