Really had a good experience with them we rented for 10 days end of Feb to 7th March 2018 had a nearly new Dacia Duster with around 2000 km on clock car was excellent condition. I took all the insurance cover for peace of mind and the car came with winter tyres fitted and free GPS which was good gas 78 industries for finding our way to hotel in Reykjavik but not really needed outside of Reykjavik . We caught the terminal shuttle bus to the office at Keflavik airport as it was pouring with rain but you can easily walk from the terminal to the office which we did on our return. I checked the car over and checked the doors for wind damage as advised on other posts but all was fine. Car ran perfectly no problems at all and we covered the whole south of the island and back up to the west coast Snaefellsnes peninsular. When we returned the car check out was fine the guy did a quick check on the car and we were on our way. The company even E-mailed us during our stay just to advise of sand/dust storms in the south of the island which luckily we had left the area before they hit. We had no problems so will definitely use them again and would recommend them. We were sensible just kept out of rivers, watched the speed limit and as mentioned on some other posts just keep hold of your doors when you open them as the wind is brutal and can easily cause damage. Overall excellent experience.

We used Blue Car rental Wednesday to Sunday last week and we were we very pleased with the overall process. Their pricing was very clear and transparent in the booking process and there were no surprises when we collected the car. The price they quote is the price you pay. The only optional extra is ‘sand and ash protection’ (SAP) and the cost of this is made clear in the booking process. It is recommended you take this if travelling to the south coast. They operate a ‘full to full’ fuel policy so they don’t charge you for the cost of any fuel up front.

You will still need to take the usual precautions of a full inspection of the car before driving away. There is plenty of advice on this forum about recording any damage not noted when collecting the car. We noticed come chips on the front bumper which were not noted on the paperwork and took photos of these but it wasn’t a problem when we dropped off the car, it wasn’t mentioned. I would say that compared to a lot of car rental companies around the world, our experience with Blue Car Rental was very positive and the collection and drop off process was very efficient.
