Break out – prey wiki guide – ign electricity units to kwh

You’ll wake up again in your apartment to your alarm greeting you to March 15th…again? Something isn’t right here. Whether or not you decided to read or grab items in your apartment the last time – you really should look around again once more (all of your notes, inventory, and objectives have been wiped).

As you grab the wrench, a mysterious caller named January will speak with you – the same one who sent the equally mysterious emails. He’ll urge you to find a way out of your apartment – as the hallway has been inexplicably sealed off. EditEscape your apartment

Since the doors in the hall are still locked, return to your apartment and grab any last items you missed – you won’t be waking up here again anytime soon. Use your wrench and smash the jammed glass door to the patio to reveal the sham you’ve been living in. There’s a lot to take in here, but first – January will call again to give you your next task: Escape the Simulation Chamber. EditGet to the main lobby

Check out the debriefing room (and note the monitor on the right with the skybox from the city you thought you lived in). There’s a weird chair in the middle, and on the right – a safe. However, the whiteboard on the left used to have the safe combination, but it’s been erased. At the very least, check out the note on the table, and Marco Simmons’ terminal. It’s password protected, but a sticky note provides the password. There’s an interesting email about a “bad install” that sheds a bit of light on your previous tests.

Exiting the room, you can find a secret entrance back to your apartment, and a door leading to where the elevators are, and some junk you can pick up – but first, let’s check the storage area going the opposite way. Heading down the hall into the storage area, you’ll find lots of replacement props – including wine bottles you can carry that restore health (but get you a bit tipsy).

As you move into the storage area, there are two things to note: One is that the doors here lead back to the apartment hall – and the second is that one of the props in the storage area is not a prop. Remember what happened to the scientist’s cup? There’s a mimic hiding in the room, and it will jump out at you when you get close. Look for two of the same prop near each other to get a clue as to what it might be, and go in swinging. If it escapes, it will likely flee to an area with more props – like Morgan’s apartment.

After killing and looting the mimic, enter the door at the end to bypass the hall, and find another door leading past the fake elevator. For a fun little effect, try sending the elevator to the roof, and the hallway will try and reset itself. EditSimulation Labs

Head out to the “roof” to find this too was a sham. Now that the illusion has been shattered, you can find some of the walls are in fact glass windows that you can break open to enter the halls beyond – not that there’s much to find beyond some explosive canisters.

Entering the “TranStar” building, you’ll find both roof entrance and testing area are one. Be sure to loot the toolbox, before heading into the desk area that was off-limits before. Check out Demetri Bowser’s terminal for an email and two utilities – but don’t reset the test chambers just yet.

Grab the medkit and enter the testing area – now looking in on the chambers. You’ll find that the room with the solitary chair now has two – as January will warn you about mimics and their tendencies. Now that you have the upper hand, smash the glass and beat the crap out of the monster. You can reset the testing area now if you want, or just break your way into each room.

Be wary, as two Mimics are hiding around this area – attack props first if you’d rather not be surprised. You’ll also find the corpse of Grete Mikkelsen here you can loot, and her terminal you can access to “reset the simulation” where you can fool around with the backdrops. Be sure to also break the window to the right of the terminal to grab some loot on the other side. EditResearch and Design

Returning to the path to the Lobby, you’ll enter Decontamination, only to see Jovan Gravilovic get killed by another Mimic, which then splits into four. January will advise you to be cautious as they scamper off and the doors open. Loot the body and be ready for anything as you proceed. Grab a medkit from the lockers and the health terminal before moving on.

January advises you to keep moving, and the door to the Skill Recorder Analysis is locked – so you get to follow the trail of bloody footprints, yay! They stop at a corpse from which a Mimic will leap up from, so don’t let it get away and beat it down. To the left you’ll find a broken control panel – but we can’t fix that just yet.

Keep moving down the hall to the corpse to grab the GLOO Cannon. This odd device emits a substance that obstructs or immobilizes targets – but can be used for a variety of tasks like dousing fires, stopping electric arcs, and even creating platforms.

As you enter the foyer, a host of Mimics will run by, scattering off to hide. This is where the GLOO Cannon comes in handy. It won’t damage them, but it will trap them in place letting you smash them to bits with your Wrench. You can’t enter the Security Office, but you can take a left into the Conference Room where Mimic is likely hiding. Inside you’ll find the body of Robert Gage and his TranScribe audiolog: Someone’s Coming.

Side Mission: Everything You Know is About to Change – At this point, January should have relayed info about a Neuromod he’s stashed on the other end of the Foyer. Kill any Mimics in the room and go and claim it. NeuroMods are how you gain skills in Prey – by learning them from the memories of others. There’s three skill trees to speak of for the moment: Scientist, Engineer, and Security. These range from incredibly practical things like hacking and repairing to boosts to your overall health and attributes.

What you choose to upgrade may affect how you’re able to solve problems going forward – but know that there’s always a way forward. For example, if you got the Leverage Skill, you can slip through the barricade to one of the bathrooms (the other has a Mimic) and find the body of Jiao-Long Heng and find a Medkit.

If not, you can even use the GLOO Cannon to build a path up the wall to the second floor balcony – where you can find Spare Parts by the locked Fabrication door, and a body of a volunteer (V-0110255-01) past the Volunteer Quarters that holds a Disruptor Stun Gun and ammo – though all the doors up here are inaccessible.
