Proceeds from the Strikes for Scholars event will benefit the Coastline Promise, which is a scholarship program for recent graduates from partnering school districts to ensure a seamless transition from high school to college. The program offers both academic and financial resources to ensure a student’s success to completing a college degree or career and technical education (CTE) certificate. The Coastline Promise improves access to higher education by removing financial obstacles to first-year students who are recent graduates from our local, partnering high school districts (such as Newport-Mesa, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove & Westminster). Coastline’s Promise is to provide committed students a tuition-free first year at Coastline, with up to $1,000 in bookstore vouchers (for their fall & spring semesters), as well as wrap around services such as Student Success Coaches, tutoring and more. In 1984, it became obvious to the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees that private funding had become a necessary supplement to enable the District’s three colleges to sustain their high level of quality and innovation. The time arrived to develop new funding mechanisms for our community college system. In November 1985, Coastline Community College Foundation held its first official meeting as an incorporated 501 (C) (3) organization. electricity and circuits test The foundation serves the college as an independent organization with a full board of directors, staff allocated by the college, and a full range of activities and services to the college and receives gifts of time, talent and resources from hundreds of donors each year, who are committed to changing a life…one student at a time. To contribute to the Scholarship Program, mail a completed donor form and your tax deductible donation, payable to the Coastline College Foundation, to the address as shown on the application.
