Directly on grayland beach! summer dates le… – vrbo power outage houston report

As you enter Salt Aire, to the left you will find a hallway with 3 large bedrooms (two with queen beds, another with two twin beds), main floor 3/4 bath (no tub) and ensuite with shower/tub combo in the twin room. Two bedrooms face east to give you fabulous sunrises while the third bedroom has a partial ocean view. The twin bedroom also has an east-facing deck.

To the right of the entry is a spacious family/living room with a wood stove to keep you cozy on cool nights. Tall windows provide lots of natural light and ocean views. A 50" Smart TV with blu-ray player and a great selection of DVDs will make you feel at home.

Off the family room is a large, well-stocked kitchen with new serveware and bakeware and new appliances including a dishwasher. Other items of note are a drip coffeemaker, Keurig, waffle maker, panini maker, slow cooker, pizza pan, roasting oven (counter-top), and Brita water filtration. A large kitchen table with two stored leaves for easy expansion has 6 chairs and a dining bench to provide ample seating to watch the waves roll in. There are also two stools at the the counter. Off the kitchen is a large deck with picnic table.

The staircases at the front door will take you up to the master or down to the basement. The basement is about 900 square feet with a 5th bedroom (queen bed) and a 3/4 bathroom (no tub). There is also a second family room with a couch and table for games/puzzles. Laundry is also at the base of the stairs for your convenience.

The master suite is amazing providing over 700 sq ft of space with a king size bed and sitting area. Large windows and a vaulted ceiling provide tons of natural light and stunning views of the mighty Pacific Ocean where you can watch the waves crash on the beach. Access to the upper deck is off the sitting area and on a clear day you can see Ocean Shores due north. The ensuite has double sinks, a shower, and a Jacuzzi tub for the ultimate in relaxation.

Salt Aire has wi-fi for your convenience. A local phone line is provided as well. We’ve stocked the house with books, movies and games as well as a pack and play and highchair for our youngest of guests. There are two hair dryers as well (one on the main floor, one in the master). Use of the garages is not included in the rental. The home is not handicap accessible, but once up the initial flight of stairs into the home all living can be done on the main floor. View more

We’ve rented a number of houses and condos in the past and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at one that when I walked in thought, "wow, this is even better than the pictures!" This house is the exception to that. Far exceeded my expectations. We had 8 adults plus a couple kids for three days, all my in-laws, and amazingly I wasn’t sick of them by the end. House is laid out so well that we all had our own spaces to retreat to, we of course took the amazing third floor master bedroom. The kitchen was stocked with way more than expected and every cabinet was labelled with contents so you didn’t spend minutes trying to find each item. There were helpful notes all around the house with how to operate various things such as the TV’s, fireplace, etc. The only slightly negative thing I would say was that while there was plenty of water for showers and such, I think the hot water tank was turned down a little too low to be able to utilize the large jacuzzi bath upstairs. You could draw a warm enough bath for the kids but if you wanted a nice soaking bath for an adult the water didn’t really get warm enough. Can’t say I blame them, if it were my house, I’d probably have the temp turned down too. On to the views and the beach. The photos don’t deceive, the walk to the beach is probably the shortest you could possible in this area. No 1/4 mile hike through the dunes, just thru a little bit of grass and you are there. Path is nice and dry too, not like some other houses where the path is under water for a good part of the year. Would highly recommend this house but then I’d be competing with everyone else for booking time so please don’t stay here!!! 🙂

Our family of 10 rented Salt Aire the last week of September. It is situated on the ocean, a short path thru the dunes to the wide open beach. A wonderful spot to play in the ocean for toddlers to great grandparents. The rooms were so nicely decorated we were immediately comfortable in the house. There were plenty of towels and linens. The common area had comfortable seating, plushy lap blankets, and a wood stove. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware. And should it rain there are lots of books, movies and toys to enjoy. I especially appreciated the dish soap and paper products. It’s the last thing you think about when packing for your trip. We did bring dishwasher and washing machine soap and left the extras.

The dining area seated 10 of us, but is quite tight. In Sept the sun is setting at dinner time and there are no window coverings on the front, making it a bit blinding for those facing the beach. Upstairs suite also got very warm on the sunny days. Maybe a ceiling fan in the master would help circulate the air?

We are so glad you had such a wonderful stay! We’ve talked quite a bit about getting a fan in the master. Once we got past one road block the next was finding one suitable for such a big space. The upper floor is almost 800 sq ft! What we (and other guests) have done is open the door to the balcony. Even just open for 15 minutes can bring the temperature down several degrees. That along with opening the windows by the bed and seating area and the other upstairs windows/on the landing also gets the air circulating. It’s the price we pay for having a wall of huge vaulted windows over-looking the ocean (not to diminish that it really can get warm up there!)!!

I’m sorry the dining area was too small to meet your needs. There’s unfortunately not much we can do about that. We bought a table that was less deep than typical (while still being functional for a full house) and added the bench along the windows instead of more chairs (also keeping in mind the smaller space). That way guests who don’t need the extra seating can just keep the table tucked up to the window. I will re-take the picture for the dining area so it is better represented for future guests. We appreciate your feedback so much and loved having you stay at Salt Aire!
