Weldments must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings. A Fitter/Welder will be required to determine, from the drawing, where each weld is to be performed, and meet the size and length requirements of each weld specified within the given tolerance allowed.

This is a position for a four year Maintainer/Welder. The Maintainer/Welder position is responsible for all types of welding, mechanical, pipefitting, construction, maintenance, and repair work in and about the plant. Employees in this position are responsible for but not limited to the following:

* Receiving work assignments, instructions, drawings and sketches concerning scheduled and emergency construction, maintenance, rebuilding, and repair work to be done. Analyzes drawings and sketches, plans working procedures, and determines tools and equipment needed for the completion of assigned work. Works in field or shop as required.

* Performs all kinds of welding, brazing, and cutting on any type of metal using tools commonly used in welding work. Works in accordance with TimkenSteel practices and specifications and the ASME Code (QW-405-6-G-Fixed) for welder certification.

* Locates source of trouble on any type of production, auxiliary, or service equipment by testing and inspecting same for faulty operation. Dismantles, cleans, inspects, rebuilds, repairs, replaces, installs, assembles, adjusts, aligns, and lubricates equipment using tools commonly used in maintenance work, including mechanical and electrical parts on cranes and other plant equipment.

* Assists other maintenance and operating personnel in the performance of their duties. Operates overhead electric crane and mobile equipment to lift and transport materials, tools, equipment, and replacement parts in connection with repair work.
