Fair price hotel – review of ibis london shepherds bush, london – tripadvisor year 6 electricity unit

The hotel seems nice on the surface, and worth the price. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was very stuffy, and the air/fan did not work. We were on a tight schedule so we never got a chance to talk to the staff about this. The stuffiness was made worse because we brought some take away food/kebabs back to the room not realizing there wasn’t a refrigerator in the room, and then the room smelled like the food for the next few days even though the food was thrown out the next day. I’m not sure if we were doing something wrong, but it didn’t seem like there was any ventilation in the room. I put the towels on the floor because they smelled like food, but the next day we had towels that had been hung up that smelled like the same food, I’m not sure if they were the same towels, or the smell in the room was so strong that new towels also started to smell? The bathroom was a pod, basically like a cruise ship bathroom. For the price it wasn’t bad, but by the third night, I could barely stand being in the room because it was so warm. I was able to open the window, but it was really noisy so I wouldn’t have it open for long. Again, it was worth the price, but not my favorite hotel, I would probably stay somewhere else next time. More Show less

I stayed at the Ibis London Shepherd’s Bush with my husband for a weekend in May 2018, booking through Lastminute’s Secret Hotels programme. The hotel is conveniently located just off Shepherd’s Bush Green, close to the station and to Westfield White City. Check in was easy, and staff were polite and helpful. The room was fairly basic; a decent size, with space to unpack and store items, plug sockets by the bed, and good lighting. The bathroom was a pod-style shower room with a small step up to access, but was also of a good size, with a small amount of counter space for items. Everything was clean and tidy, and was well looked after by housekeeping during our stay. Wifi was included with our room rate, and was very fast and reliable. The room had a heating/cooling system which was temperature controlled and on some kind of timer to conserve energy, but this did mean that for a good portion of our stay the room was warmer than we would usually prefer. The one window in the room did not offer an awful lot of ventilation. The hotel also uses unbleached linen for towels and bedding, which did take a little getting used to, but everything was still clean and fresh. The bed was comfortable. Our room overlooked a children’s playground which I never saw used all weekend so was quite quiet, I had requested a quiet room when booking and this was good. We did not use the bar or restaurant for breakfast and chose instead to use local amenities for food and drink; with the green and Westfield so close by there really is no need to pay upwards of £10 per head for a cooked breakfast! With good links for the Central line, and lots of activities within walking distance, I would recommend this hotel.

This is our 3rd time staying with ibis. Our last trip with ibis is in Seoul, Korea. Pro: Great location near Westfield London Shopping Centre, Shepherd’s Bus Station, Overground and Buses to central London near by. The hotel room is clean, spacious and quiet facing back of street. Our room included breakfast, the food quality is average but with many choices. Many fast food chain nearby such as McDonald, KFC and Subway but we haven’t used them. The front desk receptions are nice and friendly. Overall hotel is clean and comfortable. Con: Although the room is spacious and clean, it is lack of basic amenities (compare to last ibis I stayed in Seoul, Korea). These items are not available inside room which I think it should be basic stuff in hotel room: Kleenex tissues box, 110 volt power outlet, mouth wash cup in bathroom are made in plastic which get broken easily after using it first time. I thought the hotel will replace another one next day but they didn’t. They didn’t even replace a clean coffee cup next day. No tooth brush/tooth paste (but this is okay to me cos’ I usually carry my own). No hand towers (only two bath towers). Issues: On the day of arrival/check-in, we were given the key to room that is already occupied by someone. We were shocked when we open the hotel room door. THIS IS VERY VERY BAD ALTHOUGH FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST NOTICE AND GAVE US KEEP FOR ANOTHER ROOM AFTERWARD….Also, we have an issues with the TV which turn-on but no pictures. Called front desk they said these happens often and they ask us if we want to change another room because of technician is off. I found this is strange they can’t fix it but suggest guest to move to another room (this is 11pm at night). Overall, I am giving below average to this hotel although the location is fairly good.

Hello Thank you for your feedback and for being our loyal costumer. We are glad you loved our location, cleanliness and our staff friendliness, we will share your comment with them. As you know, all Ibis are similar, but depending on the country they have a standard on amenities in the room, four our guest satisfaction some of those staff (for example: tooth paste and tooth brush, adapters, extra glasses, tea bags, milk, cups, iron and iron board, extra towels,…) are available at reception upon request 24/7 and for free. We are really sorry about the issues you had, I totally understand your reaction on finding somebody in the room assigned to you, and I’ll investigate with my staff to understand why it happened, I could guess two check in were done on the same moment and the same room was assigned to two different reservation, but I totally agree this shouldn’t happen and I apologize about the inconvenience. Regarding TV issue we normally solve it straight away during the day time while our maintenance staff is here, if it’s possible our front desk staff try to fix it as well, as much as we are trained on minor maintenance issues, sometimes it’s beyond our capabilities and we are left with no other option than a room move. I am sorry that it was your case. I hope you enjoyed anyway your stay and to see you again to show you it was only an isolate case what happened to you, Wish you a lovely day and thank you again for sharing with us your experience. If there is anything else you want to discuss over the phone please don’t hesitate to reach me on the hotel number. Alice
