Great views and decor, poor service… – rumpus room, london traveller reviews – tripadvisor electricity experiments for preschoolers

Description: Rumpus Room is a rooftop bar situated on the 12th floor of Mondrian London at Sea Containers with striking views across the river Thames and London’s skyline. Inspired by a moment in time – The Bright Young Things – Rumpus Room recalls this era, a time when a party was more than just a party, it was a lifestyle, an experience, a flash in time that was gone before you knew it. A place where Vans meet Valentino and where city slickers meet Southbank creatives. This stunning bar is the perfect place to sip champagne cocktails, celebrate with friends over one of our signature punches or just to simply take in the view. The bar boasts a inspired music policy which fuses sounds of the 20’s ‘Jazz Age’ with the 21st century’s popular music. Rumpus Room also plays host to ‘Skyline Sessions’, a live music series every Wednesday night as well as featuring DJ’s every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This hidden gem is a modern interpretation of 1920’s London. Sunshine by day, skyline by night.

Date of visit: 17.05.18 Time: 20.26 The area around the hotel is a bit out of the way, however when you walk in and take the lift up you are transported into 5 star luxury and make your to the outdoor terrace to be hit by some great views. The hotel itself is also special and has some great design to it so I must stay over one day and do a full review, they also have a resturant so will look to review that next time as well. The bar offers a good selection of drinks and snacks and although busy you go to a special section where you can be served very promptly without waiting or needing to shout or trying to get the bar staff attention. There is a DJ but music is not too loud and just right. The outside terrace maybe small and narrow but you have to go for the view, not to be missed. Bar staff friendly and served quickly and able to make mocktails as requested. I will be looking to go again for sure. There is a coat and bag check area so worth making use of this as the bar does get busy so this is the easiest way to keep everything safe. Had the trio of cheesecakes which went down well Overall a really nice place to visit.
