In its entirety, the Ayurveda Overseas Study Program consists of 10 weeks of overseas training, consisting of two five week programs that can be taken together or individually. The first five week program takes place in Kathmandu, Nepal, where students will be introduced to the 800 year old Bajracharya lineage. Here students will learn clinical techniques in Ayurveda from several different physicians, including Vaidya MB Bajracharya, a hereditary physician of Ayurveda with 42 years clinical experience. Students will also have the opportunity to prepare and purify remedies such as sulfur and guggulu, as well as learn to make classical remedies such as Chyavanprash and Kaishora guggulu, and even how to prepare bhasma. After a week’s break, the program reconvenes in Kerala to introduce students to the Keraliya school of Ayurveda, to study with highly esteemed physicians including Vaidya KV Unnikrishnan, who was a direct disciple of the late Shree Poomully Neelakandan Namboodiripad. During this program, students will gain a unique insight into the Keraliya school of Ayurveda, learning valuable clinic techniques including some of the practices of pancha karma, the treatment of cancer, and the preparation of classical remedies.
