High tide villa (winding bay, eleuthera) – homeaway power generation definition

A High Tide Villa vacation will be one you will always remember. Your vacation home is just steps from 2 miles of pink sand beach and the calm, warm, blue waters of secluded Winding Bay. You will revel in the luxury and privacy of this recently upgraded 3,560 sf, 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom house with stunning views from every room. At the same time, you will find High Tide Villa casually welcoming and family friendly. Our own children learned to swim and snorkel right in the ‘backyard’ (beach). Each of the 3 bedrooms has a private bathroom and individual entrance opening towards the beach. The Master Suite includes a king bed, plenty of dresser space, walk-in closet area, and a giant soaking tub. Bedroom #2, (The Coral Bedroom) has two twin beds. Bedroom #3 (The Sandpiper Room) has a queen bed and is secluded at the end of the house. The entire home has ceiling fans and air-conditioning.

The ‘Great Room’ (living area) is open and spacious with lots of room for dining, lounging, reading, playing card/board games, and watching satellite TV. Bring your Ipod and enjoy your favorite music anytime on the MP3 player. DSL internet is also available.

Cooks will enjoy the fully equipped remodeled kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances. You can prepare the fish, lobster (in season), or conch gathered near your villa or visit the wharf in the nearby village of Tarpum Bay where the local fisherman bring in freshly caught fish each afternoon. A gas barbecue is also available.

You’ll want to take one of the kayaks (or paddle boards) to check out the abundant sea life in the tranquil bay and the inner reef where you’ll revel in the accessible snorkeling. The beach offers a waterfront cabana and plenty of beach chairs and lounges, as does the patio. There are many other nearby opportunities to explore secluded beaches, snorkel, indulge yourself in local culture, or just sit back and revel in your own private tropical paradise. It’s always ‘island time’ in Eleuthera!

Your stay includes maid service for 2 days/week by a trustworthy maid (Lilly) who has been with High Tide Villa for over 20 years. If you require additional housekeeping services, babysitting, errands, etc, she can be hired for an additional fee (as required).

Have Cindy (a local cook) cater a real Bahamian feast of conch fritters, grouper, peas and rice, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and top it off with pineapple-coconut tart. The local restaurants offer great opportunities to sample everything from local home style dishes to gourmet fare served on the deck while you watch a romantic sunset over a tranquil sea.

Ask Columbus (the property manager and source for information on all local attractions) for suggestions on local fishing charter opportunities. Expect to catch dolphin (mahi-mahi), king fish, wahoo, mackerel, barracuda, grouper, and, yes, sailfish and marlin are possible. Columbus can also arrange car rentals.

We just spent a great week at High Tide! The weather was sunny and warm every day. We were able to enjoy the kayaks and the paddle board but as the week went on, the winds picked up. Eleuthera offers lots to explore. Columbus arranged a van for the 6 of us and we went out every day to explore different areas of the island. We went up to Spanish Wells and Harbour Island one day and went south to Cape Eleuthera another day. OceanHole is not far from the house and we jumped in there. Another day was spent on the beaches around Governor’s Harbour with lunch at Tippys. The house has a beautiful layout! The kitchen was well equipped with good quality cookware, knives and utensils. We had dinner at home every night and enjoyed lounging around in the Great room. The house is well maintained, very clean with lots of fresh linens and towels. We were able to get some fresh fish from nearby Tarpum Bay one day but it was limited due to the high winds and the fisherman couldn’t go out as much. As the week progressed we discovered more small stores to pick up a few groceries. The location of the house is lovely, the beach felt like our own and we were always happy to come ‘ home’ at the end of our day. At the end of our bay we saw lots of turtles. We would definitely go back to High Tide! The pictures don’t do it justice. It was such a pleasant surprise to see those beautiful views. One week was too short!!!

We had 3 families which included 8 kids, ages 4 to 12 stay at this property over spring break. The home was super clean, updated and had every amenity you could think of for a more than comfortable stay. Most stellar feature? Every room in this home has a view of the magnificent Winding Bay and its incredible turquoise waters. Access to the softest pink sandy beach was only steps from the back porch where you could dip your toes in or just relax in the shade under the palapa.

Almost daily, we walked the length of the beach and back (approx. 2-miles round trip) for some exercise. The kids spent the day playing on the beach, swimming, digging holes or exploring the nearby "cut" to the mangroves during low tide. Nearby, we found the Ocean Hole to be a really fun outing and chance to swim with some beautiful fish. There was no shortage of things to do and explore in the most amazing setting.

This 3-BR home has one of the best layouts I’ve ever seen for a vacation property. The large great room where we ate great meals, hung out in and played games has a fully equipped kitchen right off of it. On both sides of this great room are two very large bedrooms with full bathrooms. A third equally large bedroom and bath are on the side. Columbus and Lilly, High Tide’s caretakers are amazing and provided everything we needed for this trip. And if we needed something ourselves, the convenient proximity to Tarpum Bay and Rock Sound made it easy to pick up fresh fish from the dock or shop for groceries.

Everyone should experience a little slice of paradise. For me, it doesn’t get better than this. Having been to several Caribbean islands including: Nassau, Barbados, St. Lucia, Montserrat, Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos, St. Thomas and Bermuda, I can honestly say, that my visit to Winding Bay on Eleuthera is my all-time favorite. We can’t wait to go back.
