I have tried a lot of different types of weight management products but this is the first food that my cats love. My older cat who weighed 26 pounds is down to 19 lbs after one year. He is healthy. No illnesses causing his weight loss. A very good food if you are looking for weight loss. Both of my cats love it. 0 You liked it! Something went wrong. Please try again later. Report

This has helped our 25lbs cat lose weight. So far he’s lost about 4 lbs since we started him on it which the vet says is great weight loss for a cat so we’re glad we got the prescription and put him on this diet. If you can’t get your cat on this diet make sure to give them lots of protein filled food and grain free is good. The wetter the food the better but ours won’t eat it. 1 You liked it! My cat has been on this food for like a year I think and he’s not lost any weight at ALL! He also acts like he’s hungry all the time and will not stop bothering you till he gets his food. I’m taking him to vet next week to see if it’s an internal problem, but I really hope I can find something that works soon… 1 You liked it! Something went wrong. Please try again later. Report

I adopted my cat in June 2014 and over the next several years it was a constant struggle to battle his gluttonous ways. He either didn’t feel satisfied or the food had too many calories. In April 2017 my vet prescribed him this cat food. I transitioned him to it slowly and he gobbled it all up. His latest weigh in a few days ago showed he has lost about 2-2.5 pounds (you don’t want weight loss to be too quick). He still seems satisfied between meals and eats every last kibble (I spread 5 small meals throughout the day using an auto feeder). I also like how the kibbles are slightly bigger and more of a pyramid shape, rather than a small circle shape – definitely not too large, though. My cat’s veterinarian gave me a list of several products which might meet Tigger’s need for low-sugar foods. I selected the one offered by Chewy.com, from which I’ve been ordering for a couple of months. This Hill’s Metabolic Weight Management dry food appealed to Tigger MORE than her previous dry food, Hill’s Science Diet for her age range. This is amazing: Tigger LOVES this food! Therefore, it has been easy to wean her off the original Science Diet, which she liked but not as much as this one.

We’ve been having weight issues with our 18 month old for a while, she has brain damage from when she was a kitten and she has always been weird about food. Even though she only ate a fraction of a daily serving of regular food she kept gaining and our vet thought the problem was her body being in starvation mode and converting what little she did eat straight into fat. She recommended this metabolic diet to try and get her system working right. Our cat loves this food and it is no longer a challenge to get her to eat enough! My vet suggested (strongly) that both of my furbabies be transitioned off commercial food and go exclusively on this Hill’s Science Diet METABOLIC formula. One of my kitties is 19.2 lbs the other 17.5. I was amazed at how quickly they took to this new food. I started out giving it to them as I would their treats but eliminated their wet food and commercial treats. They gobbled the Metabolic up! Within a week they were transitioned entirely to the Science Diet and are now commercial food free. My heaviest cat had a serious issue of vomiting every time he ate. I am happy to say he hasn’t vomited in a week. Thank you to my vet and Science Diet for such a great product. 3 You liked it! Something went wrong. Please try again later. Report

My vet recommended this for my obese 14-year old female cat. She lost around 3 pounds in a year on this food, down to 15 lbs from 18. She seems to like it. She does go through occasional bouts of vomiting, but…she’s a cat. No more or less than with other food. As some people pointed out, the kibbles are a little bigger. But for my cat, that’s good; with other food, when they’re smaller she used to eat some of the kibbles whole when eating a few at a time. Now she eats one at a time and crunches them up even though she’s missing a couple of teeth. Overall it seems like it does what it says without making the cat feel deprived. 2 You liked it!
