Visit ancient Mayan ruins, experience exciting jungle tours, swim with dolphins or snorkel live coral reefs. Or just relax and enjoy the perfect year round climate.

Our stay at Villas Marlin was wonderful! The resort is located right on the ocean, and the adjacent beach is fabulous. There is a secure gatehouse with a 24 hour guards at the street side of the property; there is also a 24-hour guard at the beach front. The guards, in spite of having limited English speaking ability, were friendly.

There are 3 pool areas, with smaller jacuzzi style tubs at both the south (kids area) and north (adults only area). None of the pools or tubs appear to be heated, and all close at 8pm. This is disappointing at times, but also keeps the property quiet at night, and far more family-friendly than it would be with hot tubs 24/7. If you’re looking for a place where you can drink in the pools and splash around all night, try another location. We were there with our 13 & 15 year old sons at the height of the US spring break and I’m happy to report that we didn’t see or hear anything that made me regret the trip, which was somewhat of a concern on the way there.

We were fortunate enough to catch a big barracuda on a day trip, and when my wife offered some of the meat to Landy she was very appreciative, and thanked us for the "pesca rico" the next time we saw her. Communication throughout the process with Jacky & Frank was outstanding.

There were four of us, each with electronic devices – for charging purposes, I suggest bringing an extension cord and electrical splitter(s). In comparison to some of the other on-site properties, our units were somewhat plain and maybe a bit dated, but factoring in the cost, we couldn’t have been happier.

The Soriano Supermerado (grocery store) in the mall directly across the street from the property has pretty much everything you need to cook onsite, at decent prices. Unless you are specifically looking for an adventure into the downtown (Walmart, Mercado 23, Mercado 28), I recommend you do your shopping there. I don’t regret our trip to Walmart, and loved the bus ride, but if we come again we’ll do all of our shopping at the Soriano.

We spent a wonderful week in Cancun at Villa Marlin, at Jacky’s condo #436 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The condo is very nice and was perfect for 3 people, everything is at close proximity, whether you need to grab some groceries or have dinner in a restaurant. No need for a rental car, you can hop on a bus just a short walk from the condo or take a taxi – they are always available right by the Villa Marlin entrance. You can’t miss with the weather…just fantastic the whole time! Jacky and Frank, the owners of the condo, were very helpful and courteous with any questions or concerns we may have had, the cleaning staff Landy and her sidekick did a wonderful job and the Villa Marlin property is very well laid out and maintained. Our only small disappointment was that the ocean was quite rough – under red flag condition: of course we could swim but only in restricted areas and no too far into the surf. Apparently those were normal conditions for this period of the year. Also the lack of bars on the beach surprised us.
