The premise of an electronic collar is that the stimulation serves as a distraction that your dog will find undesirable. By obeying your obedience command or by stopping the undesired behavior, your dog quickly learns to avoid and/or stop the unpleasant stimulus.

The collar receiver delivers the appropriate stimulation to your dog via a set of two stainless steel collar probes. The probes are positioned on your dog’s neck and are held securely in place by a snug-fitting collar strap. The probes must have direct contact with your dog’s skin in order to function properly.

Electrical stimulation from the collar is intended to distract your dog by delivering an unpleasant but harmless electrical sensation. Some people describe this sensation as feeling like the static shock you receive when walking across a carpeted room in your stocking feet and touching a metal cabinet. Is it unpleasant? Yes. Does it cause you harm? No. Training collars provide you with multiple stimulation levels. As a rule, most handlers find they can achieve their desired results using an extremely low level of stimulation, barely even perceptible to humans. Additionally, some remote training systems allow you to condition your dog to associate a vibration or audible tone with the correction, thus eliminating the need for electrical stimulation altogether.

Always start with the lowest intensity level and work your way up as needed. You will know when you have found the proper stimulation level when your dog responds to the stimulation with only a mild twitch of the neck, shoulder, head, or perk of the ears. If he yelps upon receiving the stimulation, the intensity level is too high.

I couldn’t wait to get this collar, my dog would bark at everything outside and then at night in her crate. It beeps, she doesn’t like, but barks right through it and I’ve only watched it shock her once. I’m so disappointed I could cry. I’ve had a lot of issues as a whole with her since we adopted and was so ready for this change. I watched several You Tube videos to get it on right and still doesn’t work. On top of that, the box says it fits small, medium and large dogs; not a chance. Mine is 35lbs and I have it all the way pulled as tight on both ends as I can and it still moves around and could possibly be why it’s not working. I did however just try the blow test in the little hole between I couldn’t wait to get this collar, my dog would bark at everything outside and then at night in her crate. When I first put this on my dog 2- 3 days didn’t work at all. Then I looked up information on YouTube and found a video that shows you how to place the collar right underneath the dog’s jaw bone not on its neck it has to be tight and lo and behold it works after about 1 week my dog has stopped barking I’ve even exchanged to a different collar and she still thinks that it’s the one but it’s not thank you chewy for the K-9 collar.. my dog was a nuisance Barker and I am so grateful that it worked… I seriously recommend it to anyone with the problem Barker.

It is preset, you do not get to choose the settings. (We purchased it for a deaf dog so having a default where it beeps several times each time he barks before going to vibrate then shock is of no help at all, worse yet after 30 seconds of silence it starts all over.) 0 You liked it! So… I got these for my 200+ pound warhounds. Yes I have 2 and these made them stop barking and whining immediately. Other brands have failed significantly. I put these bad boys on max and that was that lol. I have now turned them down to half way I have never had a collar be effective enough for my 2 beast but they definitely have simmered down. 0 You liked it! Something went wrong. after doing a lot of research for a bark collar , I choose this one and I am disappointed in how misleading information for this product is. We have an extra piece, that even after going on the company website, I still have not been able to discover what this piece goes to. Not even sure that the collar works. 0 You liked it! The neighbors never complained, they’d just text and ask if the dog was hurt or sick because of her barks. Within days, they thought we’d gotten rid of her. She’s perfectly, politely silent now. The thing, if set on high, is sensitive enough to pick up other sounds or movements, but on a medium setting works exactly as it should. Enough warning beeps to let her know to behave while she’s home alone. The collar was frayed a bit when received so I’ve put some tape around that, will probably have to order a back-up. Entirely happy though.

My girl is still adjusting to the city. Barks at every loud noise. Put this collar on, and at first she didn’t seem to understand where the noise was coming from and kept looking around for the source. She is so cute 🙂 She’s smart so it didn’t take her too long to figure out that barking caused the noise. But she also figured out that barking softer would make it sometimes undetectable haha! She’s so cute and smart. Good product, my dog barks less now. No complaints. Thank you. 4 You liked it! Something went wrong. Please try again later. Report

I put this on my dog who is definitely a barker but also timid thinking that just the noise will deter her. Well that didn’t happen at all it worked for maybe a week then just stopped. It would beep once then basically shut of and the batteries run out VERY quickly. For someone with a hyper loud dog it’s a waste of money. Maybe it works on a small dog but for sure not a larger dog. I would never recommend this to anyone and I will never buy this product again 4 You liked it! Something went wrong. Please try again later. Report

I bought this one to try as it’s description sounded perfect for my uses. It was easy to set up and it fits my dog well however it is not consistent. Sometimes it goes off randomly when my dog is not make a sound, other times a soft sound will set it off and yet a loud bark will not set it off. Don’t waste your money buy a better one.
