The station is powered by a Davis Instruments 6250 t gasthuys Vantage Vue Wireless Weather Station. The data is collected every 30 seconds and the site is updated every minute using Ambient WeatherBridge. Data is then processed, archived in a database and can be viewed close to real time at Airport Weather History. Weather data on this site is now collected directly from the airport by custom software using a TP-Link TL-MR3020 router flashed with Meteobridge firmware and OpenWrt Advanced Features. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible. The airport today Today Santa Paula Airport is a non-towered facility handling approximately 97,000 arrivals and/or departures a year, and is home to nearly 300 aircraft. It is also home to a small number of helicopters, gliders and ultralights. The airport today is smaller than local airports, primarily serving the local community and providing hangar space for pilots of nearby communities. Name dropping. Santa Paula Airport has seen, or been home to a number of interesting and colorful characters over the years.
