I did the 4D/3N Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu in July 2014. Having travelled through South America for several months this was my final stop on the continent. This experience topped them all by a considerable margin. I can try and use superlatives to explain how magnificent this expedition is but they won’t be sufficient. Doing the trip with the Green Machine only enhanced our experiences. Our porters, chef, guide, food and equipment were all fantastic. The food I ate on the Inca Trail was probably electricity 101 some of the best I had eaten in months, they even somehow managed to bake us a cake on the final evening (6 months later I am still completely confused as to how they managed this) I have zero complaints, I cannot praise the helpful staff at Alpaca Expeditions enough. Everyone who comes to Peru has to do the Inca Trail and I don’t think it can be done better than with the Green Machine. Our guide Amoroso was also gas variables pogil incredible. So knowledgeable, enthusiastic, helpful, kind, adventurous and a great photographer. He really made my trip to Machu Picchu a special. Cesar was also great!! Thanks for the experience of a lifetime!!

Travelling as a group of four ladies, we had booked the 2 day/1 night Sacred Valley trek + Maccu Picchu tour – including Wyna Picchu climb (as an easier option to the Inca trail which is closed in Feb). The team at Alpaca Expeditions – the ‘Green Machines’ were professional, informative and friendly from the get go. We met our wonderful guide Cesar, the day before. He provided us with extensive info and answered all gas vs electric water heater our questions. On the trek itself, Cesar was attentive, knowledgeable and always looked out for us!! He made sure we were adjusting to the altitude and was patient when we needed to take a break or wanted to take pictures. Cesar played his wooden pipe along the way which made our trekking experience quite magical and mystical – hearing the beautiful sound through the valleys, waterfalls and amazing scenery was amazing! If you want to experience a lesser travelled trail then this is your best bet!!! The fact that we were the only ones national gas average 2012 (tourists) hiking it, made the experience even better. Our chuskies (super porters!) were just as amazing, carrying 20kg each of food and cooking materials throughout the trek and preparing us the most delicious spread – we were definitely spoilt!! They were also attentive and always smiling! The terrain on the hike itself was varied – some parts were steep and hard going, the downhill actually hurt me the most (due to knee injury) – it was rocky and could be slippery. other parts were nice and flat through streams and soft grass. Cesar was good in that he always communicated how we were travelling in terms of time and the difficulty rating of what was ahead. We met some young children along the way and had a little break and gave them some gifts we purchased the day before. Overall a beautiful trail. One of us got sick t gas terengganu on the 2nd day – Cesar was excellent and did his best to get medication (at 6am in the morning!). He was calm, professional and practical and re-jigged the timing of our activities for the day so we wouldn’t miss out on anything. The only feedback I would give is that accommodation booking processes may need to be better organised between Alpaca and the hotels as there were some issues with our hotel when we arrived in Ollyantabtambo. Not something you want to deal with late at night after a long day of trekking. However, Cesar dealt with it promptly and professionally and we were booked into another hotel in no time. Huge thanks to Cesar and the Green Machines – I loved every part of the tour! Best static electricity bill nye full episode experience.
