Located on a private road, this LARGE 5 bedroom 4 bath home is ready for your Private Get-a-way. The Kitchen is Spacious with room for all and has all of our standard amenity’s such as Stove, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Garbage Disposal, Toaster, Blender and more. The dining table seats ten, and there are three bar stools at the Kitchen counter.

But why dine inside? There is a picnic table in the Beach side yard along with another table and seating, and if the Menehunes are sprinkling you with a cool Tropical Shower, just seat yourselves on the 1,100 sq ft Covered Lanai Mauka (Mountain) side of the house.

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, two on one side of the home, the other opposite, each with a Queen bed. Two of these bedrooms are Ocean side for a Spectacular view of the Pacific while lying in bed. There are full Bathrooms on each end of the upstairs, one with tub and shower, the other with shower only.

As for the beach which is LESS THAN 100 FT from the patio , Malaekahana Bay is just about everyone’s idea of the perfect Hawaiian beach. This Beach is praised by quite a few reviewers, such as Frommers, Home and Abroad, Sunset to name a few. Even in the old Hawaiian day’s, it was known as a place of Sacred Refuge for the Heart, Mind and Soul and how the bay got it’s name.

It’s crescent shaped bay with a mile of deserted walking beach is perfect for Swimming, Snorkeling, Surfing, Boogie Boarding, Kite Surfing and Beach combing for the Famous Glass Balls. With it’s limited access, it’s secluded almost to the point of deserted, but you may bump into the occasional fisherman whipping for Papio or the venerable throw net master.

The island is a protected Turtle and seabird sanctuary, but may be visited and there is a trail around the island. Take a stroll around it and when you find your spot on the beach to enjoy the view of Oahu from offshore, lay back in the sand on your own little deserted island. When you get back to your home away from home, there is an outside shower to rinse off the sand for as well as an additional enclosed bathroom with shower accessable only from the exterior.

Restaurants, horseback riding, hiking, ocean sports, and many other activities are very close by. We are less than two miles north of Laie with it’s Foodland Grocery store and other local dining as well as a few franchise establishments. BYU and the Polynesian Cultural Center are within another mile.

I can not say enough wonderful things about this vacation home. Its location was ideal for the rest, relaxation and private family time we seeked. We loved waking up to ocean breezes filling our rooms and daily sunrise and sunset walks on the private beach just out the back door. This north shore location was perfect for privacy and closeness to favorite snorkeling and surfing spots, our zipline adventure at Kaula Ranch, tour and luau at the beautiful Polynesian Cultural Center, quick trips to delicious Ted’s Bakery and shaved ice runs, etc. We didn’t even mind the ever scenic drive from the North Shore to Honolulu when we ventured over to Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head hike and tandom parasailing along the Waikiki coastline. This beautiful home was large enough for each of our married children (4 couples total) to have their own bedroom and bath and also provided a large great room gathering area for visiting, movies, game playing and eating. The extra amenities with this home made our stay so much more enjoyable. The ice maker and ice chests were most appreciated and used daily. We were especially grateful for the use of beach towels, beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, washer and dryer, etc. Nancy and Bill were gracious, delightful and available to help in any way needed. They made this vacation rental experience easy. There is no doubt, that if we could we would return to this home, on a yearly basis if airfare costs and time away from work weren’t so prohibitive. Upon our departure, Nancy and Bill asked if there was anything they could do, fix or provide to improve things and all 8 adults in our group agreed that there was nothing – It was perfect. Everything we needed was provided plus things we hadn’t even thought of. This will always be our destination location of choice on Oahu (assuming it isn’t booked out because of all the great reviews). Nancy and Bill, Thank you for your attention to detail, your hospitality and genuine kindness. We truly hope to stay with you again very soon. Mahalo!

We are a family of 12 from Iowa. We just loved the house, property and beach. We had a small incident late on our 2nd night, I called Bill and Nancy, God Bless their souls, they were at the house within 20 minutes. The house is well furnished, you name it, they had it. We loved the large yard (5 kids)! The beach is fabulous, why leave when you have the most beautiful beach to swim and play. THE VIEW, THE VIEW, I was blessed to wake every morning to the most gorgeous view ever. We also watched sea turtles feeding about 10 houses down the beach, Spectacular. The only downfall our family felt was there was no air conditioning in the house, as it was very humid and virtually no breeze, if you left for the day and had to close the house up while you were gone it was somewhat uncomfortable upon your return. We were over an hour away from downtown (Pearl Harbor), but was within several miles of Polynesian Culture Center and towns with plenty of amenities. We just loved our stay, location, view and host’s. Thank you Nancy and Bill Ohana
