The N.K. Harper Barnhouse is an architect history lover’s dream! Legacy Ranch at Rocky Creek Guest Houses sits on 12 gated and private acres just 8 minutes from Main St in Fredericksburg. The N.K. Harper Barnhouse was masterfully built in the early 1900’s in Missouri. In 2010, it was re-built on this site with added impeccable iron work. The builder’s attention to detail included building the barn and allowing it to weather for six months before enclosing it with walls and the metal roof. They paid special attention to the trolley in the ceiling and continued that design with the Edison bulb lighting over the foyer table. The barn showcases oil gas memorabilia honoring gas oil ratio 50 to 1 N.K. Harper, an impressive array of iron and metal work throughout as well as an unusual and artistic display of longhorns.

There’s also Scrabble, Chess, Checkers, Trivia and a huge selection of DVD’s if you prefer to kickback and watch a movie.

The interior lighting is very old school and at night, it becomes quite the spectacle when sitting by the fire. The N. K. Harper Barnhouse was named after Nolan K. Harper, who was a father of 7 and retired from Exxon in 1984. He worked relentlessly and through brutal winters from 1977-1979 in Alaska on the Alyeska Pipeline, for which he was very proud to be a part of. Born in Dallas and raised in Freer, Texas, he was a hard-working, self-made man who loved his family but was always an expert in any field he put himself in. He was a naturally talented architect, craftsman, businessman and father. The N.K. Harper Barnhouse honors Nolan by way of his nature: craftsmanship, industry and warmth.

The Dr. Okerholm Loghaus honors Dr. Richard Okerholm is beautifully appointed with 4 queen size poster beds and comfortably sleeps 8 in this authentic, historical Swedish log cabin originally built in 1820 electricity billy elliot karaoke with lyrics. You ll find our beds and pillows to be as comfy, if not moreso than yours at home! Enjoy morning coffee sunset wine on the big front porch rockers gliders. It features a full-width front porch filled with large rockers and gliders, wide plank pine floors, plaster walls and ceilings electricity flows through as well as antique wood doors with antique hardware. Two large bedrooms on opposing sides share a central living room with a cathedral ceiling and antique adze-cut beams. A gas log fireplace operates by an electric switch on the side of the fireplace.

Dr. Okerholm Loghaus has a lightly furnished kitchenette for eight. An electric skillet and large crock pot/slow cooker are located in the pantry and are available for use, as well as a mini fridge and pantry. The bathroom features a 6′ whirlpool tub and antique-style pedestal lavatory with horizontal painted shiplap throughout the spacious bathroom. Stepping out of the kitchenette into the back of the house is a granite patio area with outdoor dining seating for 8 which is surrounded by flower beds with Lady Banks roses. The entire area of Dr. Okerholm Loghaus is surrounded by post gas monkey cast and rail fence with antique cedar ports which came from President Lyndon Johnson’s ranch near Stonewall.
