The benefit of starting with an empty house is that now almost electricity static electricity everything is new. We has fun adding things we felt our guests would enjoy – new HVAC for those dog days of summer and the cold winter nights, covered deck with views of the distant mountains, red chairs and a red door to match, gas grill and monster fire pit, toys and balls for the big yard, colorful mugs and our favorite coffee we discovered in Honduras, shiny stainless steel fridge, comfy beds with plush gas after eating yogurt soft blankets and quilts, big lcd tv, and a chaise lounge in the big window with a few good books.

Creative touches throughout add to the character – beautiful new hickory cabinets in the kitchen topped with oak butcher block counters we salvaged from old truck beds, nostalgic farm theme of the dining room with an antique oak table that extends for more room, the tree wall in the lavender bedroom, our favorite JRR Tolkien quote in the blue bedroom, and a big compass rose in the living room for folks coming from all directions.

After reviewing the HomeAway offerings for Asheville we finally settled on the Little Yellow Cottage which in my family’s opinion was b games car a really great decision. The name of this property is very fitting as it is exactly as it describes. The home sits on a very nice large piece of property located about 3 – 4 miles (15 minute drive) outside of the downtown core of Asheville. It is far enough out to feel secluded but not so far away that you have to drive forever to get to civilization. (The Biltmore is about 25 minutes, the mall is 20 minutes, NC Arboretum is 25 minutes)

We rented this house during the gas finder rochester ny week of Thanksgiving (2018) and to be honest this was my first time doing Thanksgiving away from home or in unfamiliar surroundings. The house and kitchen is small (a little over 800 sq feet) but not so small that you can’t cook a nice meal in it. After all I was able to cook Thanksgiving dinner here and most of our meals throughout the week.

Kris the owner has taken a lot of time with this house and it definitely shows! It is very cutely decorated with a nice travel meets modern country feel. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, the towels for the bathroom were also great (no cheap storing electricity in water on-sale at Target towels). Plenty of throw blankets for those chilly late fall nights. This wasn’t our first time using HomeAway or renting a house/condo for a family trip. However the owner has set the bar high with this electricity billy elliot backing track house. They provide you with ample amounts of toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning supplies. But they also provide you with things you forget like: body wash, soap for the dishes, coffee, coffee creamer (this was a major plus for my wife), paper plates, zip-lock bags, and a few other surprise amenities. Another really nice plus is the owner is very responsive to calls and text messages. It was nice to have someone check in on us after we arrived to ensure everything was how we expected. She was available without being intrusive.

On a side note for those with children. We had our two electricity kwh usage calculator boys (ages 11 and 6) and they too really enjoyed the house. The yard is spacious and there is a good handful of outdoor toys to play with. On a downside things for kids to do in Asheville during late fall are limited as many things were closed for the season. This is not a reflection of the house just the region.

The Asheville area with it’s surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains is a unique and beautiful region offering breath-taking year-round views and a multitude of things-to-do for both thrill-seeker and those that prefer a quieter experience. We’re lucky to own a small piece of this heaven, The Little Yellow Cottage. It’s located just outside of Asheville for a peaceful and private stay, but conveniently close to the major – and a gas is a form of matter that minor– attractions.

Yes, you heard correctly! This area is a Temperate Rain Forest!

* There is SO much to do here in our beautiful area. You can Google them or visit one of the Asheville-specific websites (I like RomanticAsheville.com) or check out our Welcome Book at the cottage.
