Lovely mid-bank waterfront home on skagit b… – vrbo types of electricity generation methods

What a lovely, peaceful, high quality place. In a previous career I worked for nearly 20 years in the travel industry for a tour company, so I have been fortunate to stay in many very nice hotels, inns, and resorts over the years, and this place reminded me of some of the nicer places I’ve visited. The view is incredible–you can see the water from the master bedroom (which has a romantic gas fireplace), from the garden, the terrace, the porches, and the main floor too. A number of places in the area where we have also stayed have great views, but this view is particularly outstanding. Then there are so many wonderful touches like the heated marble floor in the master bathroom, heated towel-holder, high quality washer and dryer, super comfortable beds…and the amazing art! And the lovely furniture! It was wonderful to sit by the gas fireplace downstairs or play cards upstairs, enjoying the water view. Unlike a previous reviewer, we found plenty of places to sit and relax in this spacious home (room for 4-5 by the downstairs fireplace, room for at least 6-8 around the table which is very comfortable, and room for at least 8 in chairs and couches in a library nook area). We were here in November, but in the summer it must be especially magnificent, to be able to enjoy the views and the winds coming off the water from several tables out on the decks. The kitchen is well-equipped with spices and a huge kitchen island for working and serving. The master bedroom is very spacious and private, and then a separate second lovely, well-appointed bedroom is also private (each has its own door). Downstairs there is room for people to stay in the library area, and there is also an additional twin bed in the upper nook area. 3 bathrooms! Plenty of parking in a safe area. The only thing we didn’t like about the place was the sound of two of the heaters–they make a very shrill annoying noise when on, so we simply turned them on when we were away to warm things up and off again when we returned and used the gas fireplaces, along with one of the in-room high quality space heaters, and we were super comfortable. We will return! Also, host Deryl Walls is charming, genteel, and lovely. Thank you for an absolutely wonderful stay!!

The house is beautiful and a piece of art. That is where the problem for our family stems from. Nowhere is there a place in the house where more than two people can sit and relax. My husband and I came with our two young adult children, and the only place that we could sit together was at the kitchen counter or outside at the patio table. We wanted to be able to play cards, but we couldn’t find a place to do that. There was a long dining table, but it seemed too nice to sit at. There were several sitting areas, but none for four people to sit comfortably. We didn’t want to sit outside at night because of the mosquitos, so we spent as little time there as possible. Another problem we had was that the master bedroom, which was on the second floor, was open to the rest of the house by a big window/balcony opening and only a curtain shut it off to the rest of the house. The description of the house said it had 3 bedrooms, but the supposed third bedroom was just an area off the side of the master bedroom, which could not be shut off from the master, so one one my children had to sleep on the sofa bed. We were not happy about that. Future renters should be made aware that the water has a sulfuric smell, although lots of bottled water was provided, and there was a water purifier on the kitchen sink. The view was beautiful. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the utensils you would need to cook and serve a meal. This is an ideal house for a couple who really appreciates art.
