Luxury 5 br with pink sand beach and specta… – homeaway gas after eating pasta

###

Welcome to Bahama Mama! This pristine condition five-bedroom home has constant sea breezes and ocean views in every direction. In addition to a spacious living room, 800′ screened-in porch, big sun deck, and 3 bathrooms, there is a huge game/TV room and two other cozy TV and reading areas in different parts of the house.

The lower level has the big game/TV room with a multi-game table (air hockey, mini pool, etc), a full-size ping-pong table, TV, DVD player, and lots of board games. Additionally there is a large bedroom with two twin beds (and two trundle beds) that can sleep four children or be pushed together for a king. This bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom. There’s also a pack n play.

The main floor has a gorgeous corner living/dining room with an open, ‘chef’s dream of a kitchen’ that is fully stocked and has 4 bar stools. There are five French doors leading out to the huge screened porch. The indoor dining table seats 8 and the outdoor dining area can seat 12 plus.

Bahama Mama‘ is located in a charming community of only seven other stone houses. Wykee Estates was built in the 1940’s for the first Premier of the Bahamas as a holiday retreat for his family and staff. Our house is the only home built more recently. It was totally renovated 5 years ago and redecorated just this year.

You will probably be the only people not only at the pool but on the gorgeous pink sand Atlantic beach as well. Both the pool and beach are just a few minute walk from the house or a 30-second golf cart ride (two golf carts come with the house).

We are in a great location just five minutes by car from the town of Governor’s Harbour and eight minutes from the GHB airport. You can also walk five minutes or take the golf cart down the beach to the Sky Beach Club with its excellent restaurant, spectacular views and infinity pool with swim-up cocktail bar.

The island is totally kicked back and relaxed. Leave your high heels at home along with your makeup… I don’t even wear shoes to dinner. The adults can eat at several great beachfront restaurants while the kids run on the beach and play just steps away from your table.

The town of Governors Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. where you can buy fresh fish and lobster most afternoons from the local fishermen. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

This property is exactly as described and pictured and we had the most amazing vacation celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren that anyone could hope for. The weather was perfect, the water warm and inviting, with good restaurants, very good restaurants nearby. The people were charming and friendly. There were some of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen including Hut Point Beach which this property is on. The owner, through email before our trip was beyond helpful and we did not need to contact the caretaker even 1 time as everything was prepared perfectly for our stay. The views from the deck, decks, as there is a wrap around inside screened porch and and outside porch. One person can be lying in the sun while another is beside them in the shade of the screened porch and carrying on a conversation. The golf carts were a big plus and used everyday to drive the dirt road that ran all along the shore and to get a burgher or drink at the property, a very short ride down the dirt road, to Pascale’s Restaurant and swim up bar. Best burghers and drinks. The wifi worked great as did direct tv so we got to watch all our Boston teams many nights in the large TV and game room on the lower level. The rooms were large but inviting and decorated beautifully. the weather was perfect every single day for the 2 weeks we were in Eleuthera. If you like adventure this is the island for you as some of the beaches can only be accessed using 4 wheel drive and your phone children and grandchildren have been on many vacations with us over the years and they loved Eleuthera and they loved Bahama Mama. If it’s too rough on the Atlantic side you go to the Caribbean side.On past visits the Caribbean side was always calm but 1 week on this vacation the Caribbean was rough for a few days so the Atlantic was as calm as could be.Most beaches are near empty and most restaurants are full so make reservations. Bahama Mama=perfect location.

It’s taken me too long to post! Our first stay on the island of Eleuthera after many years of visiting Abaco. We were so happy that we choose this house, the location was perfect to be able to tour the north part and south part of the island during our stay – but honestly, our most favorite spot was the beach by the house and making friends with the bartender at Pascals. We had our 12 year old daughter, 18 year old son and his girlfriend (and my husband and I). The house is huge, and we had plenty of room. The golf carts were a huge help, after a day out we got right in them and spent the rest of the day into the evening on the beach (go down the hill, head left and follow the path – you’ll find a few little "dirt road" turn offs – those paths lead up a hill, but down the bank is the most amazing beach ever). My son and husband were off shore fishing every night and catching dinner while us girls explored, walked and played in the sand and just enjoyed relaxing. The house has most everything you could need. and the owner was gracious enough to let me buy a soft cooler off her to take fish over to Abaco (which was our 2nd part of the vacation). We only used air conditioning in the bedrooms and we put it on in the late afternoon. We kept the doors open in the living space and only used air downstairs if we were watching TV or playing Jenga (yes, there is board games available too). It’s island living and AC can get expensive, so if you don’t abuse it and leave it on all day, you can still be comfortable when it counts. Our family had an amazing vacation here. It was a great 1st time to visit and explore the island, we definitely hope to be back to do even more exploring. If so, I’d inquire on this home and it’s availability. Thanks to the owner for providing a clean, modern home with pretty much everything you could possibly need. You thought of everything!
