Luxury sunset villa with direct acces to th… – vrbo electricity cost in california

From the terrace one will enjoy wonderful sunsets and if you are a little lucky you can observe wales crossing the bay. One can also enjoy the view from the inside living area. The big European isolated windows keep 99,9% of UV rays outside.

The house also contains a swimming pool, which runs on very little chlorine. Because of the so called “infinity edge” the pool seems as if it is a part of the ocean, making an almost seamless blend between the swimming pool and the water of the ocean, especially when the winds are calm. The pool also has a raised Jacuzzi attached to it, with a waterfall cascading down into the pool, generating a source of calming sound against the thunder of the ocean waves.

The property also contains two double story units, one used as a guestroom. On the wall right next to it, one can sometimes spot the occasional iguana lying in the sun (usually only in the early morning). On the other one a roof access has been built. From there one can enjoy all the beauty that Flamingo has to offer.

The outside terrace also has a big 50+ inch TV, so in the evening (which comes quite early in Costa Rica), one can enjoy such entertainment without being confined to the inside of the house. On the terrace there are also deck chairs for easy sunbathing whenever one feels the need to.

In general, the house is very open. The celling in the living room is around 8 meters high. Almost every room has big windows which can also be used as doors. In this way, one can generate enough airflow to not have to use the AC. This helps with the acclimatization process and will make ones experience of Costa Rica much more enjoyable.

Pros: Location. Playa Flamingo is a great little beach town in Costa Rica close to a lot of great restaurants (Coco Loco, Surf Box, Marie’s) and beaches. The Master Bedroom has an amazing view of the water. The ‘main house’ (with kitchen, living area, library, bathroom, two bedrooms (both with bathrooms) was so comfortable and also has an amazing view overlooking the pool and ocean. The infinity pool itself was also such a hit. The fourth and fifth bedrooms are each in a separate ‘building’, with one being over the garage (also with bathroom) and the other in a separate standalone apartment (with bathroom and kitchenette). So, each couple had a lot of privacy, but the layout could also be a ‘con’, I suppose, if you have a lot of young kids in your group. The outside pool area is well equipped with at least 8 comfy lounge chairs and outdoor chairs and couch by an outdoor TV. The weather was awesome, as long as you like it HOT, which most of us in the group did. Thankfully, the pool is only a few steps away at the Villa and such a welcome relief.

Cons: And, these are first world ‘cons’ obviously, because it’s really hard to complain when you are on such a great property, in such a great location, so take these ‘cons’ with a grain of salt. It’s not easy to find the Villa. We were on the phone with Carlos (who is great and very helpful and always a phone call away) a few times not knowing just which street would get us there. No big deal, but there should be a way to better track the address (the address to the Villa will rarely get you to the Villa, even according to the owner). Also, because there are so many different rooms in the Villa, some of the less used rooms (library, bedroom over the garage) were a bit dusty. Also, there are 187 steps (but who’s counting??) to the beach from the Villa, so if you have any mobility problems, and know you want to use the beach, take this into consideration before booking. It didn’t discourage us from using the beach at all, and was a fun way to get some exercise. Also, you won’t find turquoise water and white sand in this area. The sand is a bit darker (black sand on some beaches, like in Las Catalinas, which is really cool) and so the water doesn’t take on that turquoise color.

We had a fantastic time at Sunset Beach Villa at Flamingo Beach. In January the sunsets were right over the pool, in perfect sight! The infinity pool was really nice, the jacuzzi tub is a cool jacuzzi, not a hot tub, but the weather is 89 degrees plus and HOT. The property was very nice and gated with security alarms and locked doors. It’s in a nice area with a cute little town that has three great restaurants (Coco Loco, Marie’s and Angelina’s), the food is fresh and very good in Costa Rica! The small grocery store in the nearby town has everything you need, produce, liquor, water, meat, etc…The beach is 70+ steps down private steps (coming back up is a workout but worth it). The roads are all paved and easy to drive on. We wire transferred the payments to Deitmar the owner and it was perfectly legit. Carlos met us at the house and showed us around. Daily or every other day maid service. Safe in closet in master. Wi-fi throughout. There are bugs in Costa Rica (lots of bug bites) and also amazing wild life. Saw sting rays every day, parrots, fish, lizards, birds, etc….We did venture out to a waterfall but it is a drive to all the rain forests, etc…depends what you are looking for!

Sunset Villa is the perfect name- the view from this home is stunning and you get an incredible view of the sunset every night so plan to be in the home 5-6 pm as often as possible. The separate master has a view of the ocean from bed and its own small porch. The photos need to be updated, there is not as much grass as is shown any more but we liked having the additional tiled lounge area and the clear view of the ocean. Be warned that the spa tub is not heated- we were there in winter and did not use the tub and spa at night as we’d hoped to.

The home has multiple areas to dine and lounge. The rooms are separated which is great for adults but may or may not work depending on ages of kids. One twin and one king in the main house. One separate master with ocean view. One king with its own kitchen in a casita and one king over the garage which was the least favorable. The other garage has a unit being built with a killer rooftop view of Flamingo Beach- will be nice once seating is provided.

Love the area. It’s a short drive from Liberia (rent an SUV, not a car). Great restaurants nearby- walk down the beach from the house to Coco Loco. Bring a light beach blanket and coolers if you can. There’s a a filtered ice maker but for a large group you might want to buy extra ice. WIFI is great to have but it goes in and out- ask how to restart the router/s in case of issues.

We rented a catamaran through Panache and loved them- did snorkeling, saw whales & dolphin, caught tuna, saw a rainbow and an incredible sunset. We also used Sweet D for a jungle river tour to see crocodiles, monkeys, and birds- he was very good as well.
