Lynchburg log cabin with 2 bedrooms flipkey gas south

The drive to Lynchburg from Nashville is beautiful. I’ve stayed in Nashville before but have never had the chance to experience the countryside, which is like something out of a photograph. The girls and I stopped in Shelbyville at the Walmart to stock up on beer and groceries for the two days. **One thing we learned was that Moore County is a DRY County. So, you can buy beer at the gas station and grocery stores, HOWEVER, liquor and wine has to be purchased outside of the county, at a liquor store. This wasn’t a big deal for us because we stopped at a liquor store in Shelbyville to grab a couple bottles of wine.

We arrived at the cabin and immediately felt at home. The Cabin is settled on top of a hill, surrounded by trees at the back and a paved driveway to the front, complete with cows across the road. It was almost surreal to be there. The girls and I quickly explored the cabin and found a basket Fran had left with the ingredients for S’mores, tools to start the fire, and a stocked coffee basket.

We spent the first night grilling and enjoying the sunset around the fireplace. The first day we had breakfast on the deck and our hearts fill of coffee. We toured the Jack Daniels Distillery and then explored Lynchburg. We spent the second night in Tullahoma at a quaint little BBQ joint called Route 55 BBQ (we highly recommend the fried pies!!) and then had a couple drinks at London’s. The second evening we started another fire and enjoyed our wine. The second day came far too quickly and sadly we packed our things and said our farewells to the Cedar Cabin.

I loved everything about our stay here. Fran made everything so easy and enjoyable. I speak for myself and my friends when saying that we WILL return, and we can’t wait! Thank you, Fran, for sharing this little piece of heaven with us. We made memories we will never forget and we had the time of our life.

I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Lynchburg TN area. It is a quick 5 minute drive from downtown Lynchburg, 3 minutes if you enjoy scraping your footboards on your motorcyle through the winding roadway. The Cabin itself is beautifully decorated and has a very warm "home" feel to it. On a chilly night, the fireplace on the deck is a great place to hang out and enjoy the night sounds of the country setting. Our BBQ team was welcomed by a special note from the owner wishing us luck while in town for the Jack Daniel‘s Invitational. We have already reserved the Cabin for 2014’s Jack Daniel‘s Invitational, so if you are in town come by and say hi to the Truebud BBQ team. While you are in town, lunch/dinner at Miss Mary Bo Bo’s is a must and don’t forget to take a tour of the distillery. If you are within a hundred miles of this place and are looking for a place to stay that has a lot of character…This is the place!!! (Side note: I really appreciated the satellite TV service so we could watch the MLB playoffs while playing cards with our Truebud’s in the cozy living room!!!)

This cabin is beyond a dream. It is all new, beautiful hand hewn cedar inside and out. The bedding, bathroom, and kitchen amenities are top quality. The local history is displayed in the cabin. The cabin made the four of us Iowa senior folk want to stay forever. Our hostess helped with our reservations for each event and gave us great advice about what to do and what time would be best. We were greeted by our hostess and the builder of the cabin when we arrived. They even helped unload our van. We found the surprise of a fire set up in the beautiful outdoor fire place and all the makings for our evening of S’mores. Our hostess and her husband joined us in the evening rain by the fireplace and told us about the cabin and local life. The location is so easy to find and very near the town –right on a paved road with a concrete drive way. There are steps to the huge deck for entry but were not a problem. Don’t skip the family style meal at Miss Mary BoBo’s boarding house or the tour of the town and the Jack Daniel‘s Distillery. We would return tomorrow to spend time with these people and enjoy their cabin. This is a once in a lifetime treat with a hostess beyond the best. New and beautiful cabin. (Grass and landscaping in progress but will be fabulous in time. Cows across the road in their pasture kept life feeling like home.)
