Country Acres Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths plus an additional sleeping area and sleeps up to 10-11 persons. Also available within a few hundred feet, if needed, is a pavilion with picnic tables, chairs, gas grills, and a campfire circle of large rocks for relaxation, story-telling, or reminiscing.

The Great Room features a rustic, native sugar maple hardwood floor which still shows the tap holes made by the ‘sugaring’ process years ago. The Great Room is furnished with a sofa, love seat, recliner, and a large, ‘antique’ plank-style table with a bench and chairs seating from ten to twelve people.

The ground floor includes a bedroom with a full-sized bed with a single trundle bed underneath, a men’s and a ladies restroom and shower, and a utility room with a washer and a dryer. Rounding out the ground floor is a family room with a queen sized sleeper sofa bed (new in 2014), a cot, a TV on 60-channel Dish Network plus the Pittsburgh local channels, DVD and a VCR. A small baby crib and a larger crib are also available as needed. Again, there is a beautiful view of the water.

We very much enjoyed a family Thanksgiving at Country Acres Retreat. The cabin was clean and furnished just as advertised with a great, well equipped kitchen that made preparing our Thanksgiving dinner a breeze. Nice amenities throughout including coffee and teas, and the jar of homemade jam/preservers that greeted us was a super nice touch. The bedding arrangements provide maximum flexibility with family groups like ours, and the kids toys were a nice touch that my grandson appreciated. It is important to know that neighbors have permission to drive ATVs around the pond and property. Yes, a neighbor did a drive by one day on an ATV while my kids and grandson were out for a walk, but it didn’t bother us since we were aware of the possibility. In fact the ATV driver (someone’s grandmother?) stopped to greet my kids and had a nice conversation with my daughter in law and grandson which she found very friendly and welcoming. I mention it simply to make sure others are prepared for the possibility. We didn’t mind sharing! One note…this is not the place to go if you need to stay connected. Internet service is slow and Verizon cell service poor. AT&T was much better, but we didn’t come to work so it wasn’t a problem for us and we actually preferred being forced to unhook for a bit. My only disappointment was that we didn’t get to meet the owner, but she did call to check in with us and make sure things were in order which I find a very nice personal touch.
