Moon beach on the shores of lake ontario in… – vrbo 9gag wiki

We stayed for 2 weeks at Moon Beach Cottage. When we first arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and clean the cottage was. From the outside it looked small, but inside was open and spacious and completely furnished. Another positive was the thoughtful stock of pots and pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, even some spices! Someone had even been there ahead of us and turned the air conditioning on.

Shopping was nearby in Oswego (10 mi away) and the village of Fairhaven is only about 3 miles away in the other direction. Our Verizon phone did not work at the cottage, so we had complete privacy, since the few neighbors we saw were very private and quiet. We totally zoned out, caught up on our reading, worked a jigsaw puzzle, which we haven’t done for over 30 years, and cooked our meals. The lake was a constant marvel changing color and surface activity — pounding waves and white caps one day and quiet gentle waves the next. We even saw the rare phenomenon of a double rainbow while driving through the beautiful rolling farmlands with grazing deer. We fell asleep each night listening to the songs of the frogs at the nearby pond and the background sound of the waves. My husband commented it was "the perfect vacation!" We will remember our stay with fondness and a deep sigh of contentment!

However, there were several issues that I communicated to the kind and friendly property owner, but I am also leaving in review so that future guests can verify them as being addressed before they also pay to stay here. 1) There was a leak above the fireplace. 2) The oven did not work (light comes on but no heat). 3) There was a critter getting inside somehow. We never saw it, but heard it several times in the evening and overnight. At first we thought it could be a mouse but it sounded more like when our cat runs around. Whatever it was also chewed a large hole through two rubbery/plastic lids on containers that were in the kitchen and knocked some books off of the side table. Definitely not a mouse. 4) Finally, not sure if this is related to the critter issue, but there was a rather unfavorable odor in pockets around the cottage, strongest by far in the entire kitchen area but occasionally we noticed it in the bathroom, too. I can best describe it as smelling like wet dog. I am sensitive to odors but my husband is not, and even he was overwhelmed by it and considered getting a hotel instead.
