My oh my, look at those views! – review of ridgway state park, ridgway, co – tripadvisor power in costa rica

Tent campers, lend an ear: this is a large, well laid out and serviced campground with most sites earmarked for RVs of reasonable to ginormous length and girth. HOWEVER, there are a few walk-in tent sites overlooking the valley and lake and snow-capped mountains beyond that will take your breath away. If you don’t mind – or otherwise can’t avoid – being 5 miles north of Ridgway and even further from Ouray and Telluride, and sharing your space with campers who spend the night inside electricity distribution network vehicles, this is a great option. Go for the Elk Ridge section of the campground and choose the walk in tent sites on the outer loop numbered #152-155 (we were in 159 – no immediate view and a badly angled tent pad, but close enough to recognize the value of the nearby sites). Walk-in is an exaggeration – the sites are at tops 25′ from the parking (as opposed to 5′ from your RV), but it definitely adds to the sense of vehicle-less space. Easy access to restrooms and water taps makes these sites convenient. With unbeatable views like these from the comfort of your electricity explained fireside camp chair, and access to Ouray and Ridgway down the road, this can be a sweet, sweet place to spend a long weekend.

Untested but checked out: the day use area of the park between Elk Ridge and Ridgway, and the swimming beach in the same area of the park as Elk Ridge grade 9 electricity unit review campground. The latter looked rocky and inhospitable, with nothing resembling a beach area despite the low water level in the lake. The day use area however looked amazing – low water level meant a large amount of shallow water for chilly splashing and swimming, and lots of sandy-looking beach for just hanging out and sitting in the sun. I’d look for a hot, sunny day in July and give it a try! More Show less

I spent two weekends camping at Ridgway and I am very impressed. The park is well laid out and it has clean modern facilities. You have three areas to RV camp and they also have walk in camping areas. The RV areas have electricity c gastronomie and water hookups. The fishing is fabulous as they have a stocked pond and you can keep your fish, they even have a cleaning station. The river is dotted with eager fishermen all waiting to land that trout. It is close to town so you can get supplies if you need them. Firewood and ice are for sale on weekends right now from the friendly hosts. This is a wonderful camping experience in the mountains the skies are gorgeous and there are deer walking around with little fear. We spotted a mother bear and two cubs near the park. I highly recommend gas 78 industries Ridgway State Park if you are in the Ouray area. One hint RESERVE your camping spot now. early in the season as the parks are getting full. The cost was $25.00 a real bargain. Another bonus is that this park is open all year round. There is also wifi and internet signals for those who like to have that amenity.
