Anyone with a single functioning brain cell knows that the grid can’t handle this, but even those without one still realize it when it hits their wallet/purse/pocket/bank account. The most efficient solar panels convert about 22% of the 1KW per square meter of sunlight (on a sunny day with no clouds) that reaches the earth’s surface to electricity. You’d need about 5 square meters of solar panels to produce the AVERAGE household electricity consumption under CURRENT usage gas exchange in the lungs rates using these most efficient panels available.
