On the beach 2 bedroom (las olas b402) $195… – homeaway electricity bill cost per unit

My two boys, ages 11 and 14, husband and I stayed for one week. The entire back side of the condo faces the ocean with a gorgeous view and you can open all the doors to get a nice breeze from the ocean. We loved the open air living, and sitting on the balcony for those you don’t want to be directly in the sun. My kids enjoyed the pool and my 14-year old rented a surf board after a lesson and managed to catch some waves. My husband rented a paddle board and both boards fit into the locker provided. People in the surf store across the street (can walk under highway) are super friendly and will deliver and pick up boards. After my surf lesson, I enjoyed walking on the beach and lounging by the pool! The condo common area had a great vibe, with friendly active families, as well as older couples. You can hear the road from the bedrooms, but did not bother us. It was actually pretty cool at night in March, so no air-conditioning was needed. We kept the bedroom windows closed after we cooled down the room and left the ocean-facing sliding doors open at night.

If you are not familiar with the area, the closer town San Jose has an old world charm and tons of great restaurants. If you want more of a party feel, head to Cabo-also with good restaurants and charming marina. You need to go to Cabo if you want to see the whales. A local tourist contractor, close to the tourist office, at the marina gave us a deal for Zip lining and whale watching without having to do a time share presentation. (Don’t believe people at airport that they need to call car rental shuttle, they just want to see a time share presentation).

On a practical note, there are two grocery stores you will pass, El comer is less expensive but Chedraui is fancier and has great croissants and other pastries. We felt totally safe driving around and eating and drinking food at the restaurants without worrying about getting sick. We washed fruit and salad with condo water without a problem. I did boil it for drinking (not sure if necessary), since I don’t like to waste too many plastic bottles.

We just returned from our Cabo spring break and we had a blast. This condo was well equipped and perfectly located. Zippers grill next door was our favorite. Weather was perfect and locals were very friendly. One issue if you are a light sleeper is this complex is right on the highway so was very loud at night and I wouldn’t call the pool kid friendly. We have teenagers so it was fine; however, we traveled with another family staying here with younger children (10 & 11) and owners that live there full time were constantly complaining about the kids playing in the pool even telling them to “stay the hell out” at one point which I found rude. Perfect place for teens and adults. We will definitely come back. Staff does not speak any English, so prepare for language barrier but was fine. Owners very quick to respond to any questions prior to trip and we had no issues while there at all. If reserving, I wouldn’t count the pull out sofa as an additional double bed, better off sleeping on the couch, extremely uncomfortable bed inside which most pull outs are… this condo had everything else we needed. Enjoy!
