Order 6.2 with 4.30 of buy off lot with 3.73 – ford truck enthusiasts forums 9gag

OK, there are 4 nice XLTs within 10 miles of my house. A few differences. Not exactly what I would spec from the ground up, but nice list of options. My needs are mostly personal use. Need 4×4 to get to work in the worst of weather. Towing will be occasional. Near or slightly above 12,000 lbs. Unless a new boat is in the future, ( not likely). But that tow gas up shawty could be from Jersey to Florida. Not on 95 but the back way through the hills. I could easily just have the boat shipped anyway. I want a 3/4 ton because I like a heavy duty truck after a lifetime in the trucking industry. But u save gas station grants pass dont need it. My question is does the 6.2 work well with the 3.73 rears? Ive been driving a GMC 2500 for almost 12 years with 3.73 or whatever high axle ratio GM puts in. Wishing for the 4.10s the entire time. Not because Im towing but because the truck is a slug unless in tow haul. Cant pull a minor hill empty without downshifting. So the big question is… Is it worth the wait to order a very similar truck simply because none of the dealers gas after eating salad stock 4.30 rears? The trucks on the lot are all advertised with a WOW price around $48,000.00. I believe they have a good bit of room to deal. I would like to be out the door at 48. The truck I speced from the ground up came to a list price of about 48 grand. So what Im asking is… Some of these trucks have sat since December. Its February 26 as I write. Im feeling like they can do enough to get me to spend. But the 4.30s…. To Order or not to order based on that one critical issue???
