Palm bluff – perched on a cliff 45 feet wit… – homeaway gasco abu dhabi email address

Palm Bluff is a 2 bedroom (each with a queen bed) one bath house located on a beautiful seaside cliff 5 minutes south of Gregory Town without visible neighbors in any direction. Three sets of mahogany french doors open up to an oversized front porch perched 45 feet above the Caribbean sea. Whether you are sitting outside on the porch or inside the house, you will pretty much always have a view of the water.

We have four lounge chairs that can either be in the shade on the porch or moved to the concrete decking next to the porch for a full sunbathing experience. There are also 4 aluminum folding beach chairs and a rolling cooler to take with you to the beach or on daily excursions. To cool off after a day in the sun or at the beach, there is an outdoor shower (cool water only) with a nice view of sea!

Each bedroom is equipped with a very quiet and efficient AC unit and ceiling fan. The rest of the house has ceiling fans. The one bathroom has a rainwater shower, a large sink vanity, and Cuban tile flooring. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a farm sink.

The house comes with bedding, towels, beach towels, and a stocked kitchen. There is also a washer and dryer in the adjoining laundry shed for you to use. There is no TV, but you will have access to our Bahamas Android cell phone for free local calls and free calls to the US and Canada. It also serves as a WIFI hotspot, so you can turn on it’s WIFI hotspot and connect your other devices to WIFI during your stay!

We have an excellent caretaker who lives 5 minutes away and he can assist with any questions that may come up during your stay. We have maid service before you arrive, but should you need additional maid service, it can be arranged for an extra fee.

Palm Bluff is located along the cliffs south of Gregory Town and it offers a unique experience (elevated cliff views are rare in the Bahamas). Being on the Caribbean side of the island, there is usually a gentle breeze, and relatively calm water for swimming. Palm Bluff is at the end of Hibiscus Drive (1/4 mile once you turn off of Queen’s Highway) on the Caribbean side of the island. The house is one mile from the world-famous Surfer’s Beach on the Atlantic Ocean (best waves in winter months, especially when the wind is blowing from the SW).

You cannot get around without a car – and with the 1/4 mile road from Queen’s Highway to the house and the 1 mile to Surfer’s Beach being very rugged and rough, we highly recommend an SUV with higher ground clearance. We would be happy to provide names of people on the island who rent SUVs and they can arrange you to pickup and drop-off the car at the airport, which is very convenient. Rentals cars are expensive and prices do not fluctuate: $60 / day for a car and $75 / day for an SUV. Gas is expensive (as is everything else on the island) – somewhere around $5 per gallon. The rental car process is very informal – there are no rental car agencies, instead you rent cars from individuals.

The house is a 30 minute drive to the water taxi dock for Harbour Island (5 minute water taxi to Harbour Island) and to the south, it is also a 30 minute drive to Governor’s Harbour. You can fly into either airport, North Eleuthera (ELH) or Governor’s Harbour (GHB) as both are about 25 minutes from the house.

There is good bottom-fishing or deep sea fishing from Gregory Town as well as good charter options on Harbour Island or Spanish Wells – both about 30 minutes away. Fly-fishing (bonefish) guides are in Harbour Island or around the Governor’s Harbour area. There are a lot of good DIY fishing locations accessible from your car too.

FYI – Our house, like most on Eleuthera, does not have a generator and power on the island goes out from time to time (usually for not more than an hour or two at a time). Our caretaker can handle any issues with the power company especially if there are any extreme circumstances during your stay! This is usually not a problem.

Palm Bluff is a beautiful home! Ellett, thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your lovely home, and thank you for all the information about the house, island, car rentals. You were quick to answer any questions. 🙂 Let’s just start with the view, we all kept saying, "WOW!" over and over again. The house is just an adorable beach house! The house had everything you can imagine you would need including beach towels. The beds were super comfortable and so nice to sleep with the windows open while listening to the waves, and nature, and the palm leaves gently swaying. The porches were a wonderful place to hang out, lay in the sun or just enjoy the beautiful sunsets. We snorkeled off the cliffside steps. It was amazing with healthy reefs, wonderful sea life all around; not to mention the cool steps that lead down to the water and views of the cliffs. (super fun to jump off the edge) The house felt safe and was a wonderful home away from home while we explored Spanish Wells, Harbour Island and all 110 miles of pure fun, adventure and the most beautiful beaches! This house was beautiful and perfect! We will return soon! Thanks again Ellett
