Located in Sunset Villas, this spacious 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom condo is truly one of a kind. Sunset Villas is a quiet, safe neighborhood that is a short walk from the shops, bars, restaurants, and dive shops of West End. There is no need for a car!

This unique 2 bedroom/ 2 bath condo has 1200 square feet of indoor living space and a 1200 square foot private roof top garden with a plunge pool. The kitchen features granite counter tops, stainless steele appliances, and Italian travertine floor. The large living area also has a flat screen TV with cable. The master bedroom has a queen bed, ensuite bathroom, and a doomed ceiling with a night scene painting. The second bedroom also has a Queen Bed. The condo has a wrap around patio. The rooftop oasis garden has an outdoor kitchen complete with a BBQ and outdoor dining area. There is also a plunge pool and lounge chairs on the roof set amidst the lush tropical landscaping of the roof top oasis garden. It is less than 2 a minute walk to West End Beach, 6 minutes to Half Moon Bay Beach where the famous Sundowners Bar is located, and a less than 10 minute boat ride to West Bay Beach which is considered one of the best beaches in the Caribbean.

A similar 2 bedroom unit that is located downstairs is also available for rent for larger families or groups. Please ask about discounts for stays over 7 days. Discounts for multiple week stays are as much as 60% depending on the length of the rental and the time of year. The condo also comes with a cell phone that can make and receive inexpensive local and international phone calls and unlimited high speed wireless internet.

We do not include electricity in the rental price. Instead of charging fees for laundry, A/C , extra people, and so forth, it is easier and fairer to charge for electricity instead. We read the meter at check-in and check-out and use the previous month’s bill to determine the rate. We found that including electricity in the price made people want to get their money’s worth by leaving the A/Cs constantly on at full blast and every light in the place on. Not only is it eco unfriendly, it meant we had to tack on an extra $300 / week to the rental rate. We include an electricity allowance that covers normal living. This includes the use of the fans, fridge, stove, lights, pool pump, hot water heater, and some A/C.

Assuming the ACs are only used in the bedrooms at night and the lights are turned off when not needed, the electricity should be around $5-$15 with 2 people in the condo.As part of our rental service, we can arrange for anything and everything you want to do while on the island. We have lived here for over 7 years and know everything about everything on Roatan. We can even stock the refrigerator with your favorite foods and drinks. What better than to have an ice cold beer waiting for you upon arrival?

We are also an eco-friendly, green rental property. We do as much as we can to reduce our environmental footprint. We have super energy efficient ACs and hot water heaters. We use all natural, palm oil free, and organic cleaning products when possible; cut down on plastic waste; have recycling and composting available for renters; use only all natural organic fertilizers in the garden, support local NGOs that work on environmental and coral reef conservation, and provide eco tips and advice for guests while they are on the island. This was a wonderful find for a week-long stay in Roatan. Very spacious, with everything you would need provided. The kitchen is very well-appointed, which is great if you decide to pick up some groceries and do some cooking. We got a whole cooked chicken from Creole’s Rotisserie Chicken, which provided the base for several meals. This is a great option if you want to save money on dining out, but there are great options for inexpensive meals close by. Elim was one such place, with great food and such friendly service.

The condo is a very short walk to West End Beach and the many shops and restaurants in West Bay. There is a rooftop patio area with beautiful flowers, a BBQ, comfy chairs, and a pool! Great area for relaxing, reading, and enjoying the sunshine.

The property manager, Caroline, is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. She provided a list of suggestions and tips for enjoying your stay in the area. The condo features gated security, air conditioning, cable tv, internet access, and a washer and dryer. I would recommend this property to a friend and would absolutely come back again!

For our 5th vacation in the West End on Roatan, , we rented Sunset Villas 3E for 4 weeks, for our 6th vacation we rented it for 6 weeks and this year we will be returning for another 6 weeks ! Our rentals have started the last Sat. in Jan. or first Sat. in Feb. as we fly Delta through Atlanta. (Note that there are numerous direct to Roatan flights from the U.S..) Upon arrival at Roatan airport, Caroline Powers the manager of Sunset Villas 3E, arranges for a taxi to pick you up and , if requested, will arrange for the driver to stop at one of the two large grocery stores on way from airport to West End. We highly recommend making this pit stop. The airport is about a half hour from condo, and you will drive through the village to get to condo. On the only road through the village you will see dozens of dive shops, bars, restaurants and a few small grocery stores, guest houses, small motels and gift shops as well as a pharmacy. About 3/4ths of way through village you will turn left onto a stone/dirt road and travel about 150 yards to gated and manned security entrance to Sunset Villas and immediately on your right is Sunset Villa 3E.

The condo is absolutely lovely and functional. Every appliance, T.V., and the wireless internet all work as intended-not an easy feat on an island in a 3rd world country–but a good clue as to the owner’s and Caroline’s commitment to maintaining a 5 star property. The interior and exterior of the property is clean and in a constant state of being maintained as the Carribean sun, wind and salt air is brutal—and so is the steady wear and tear of renters.

The lay out of the condo is perfect for families or couples traveling together as the bedrooms are separated and the master bath is attached and main bath is just outside the 2nd bedroom. Having stayed in 3 other condos/villas prior to renting 3E, the water pressure in both showers is the best that we have experienced in the West End. The main living area is spacious as is the huge deck–where ceiling fans allow us enough cooling to stay for hours. The washer/dryer on side deck is a true luxury—as is the roof top pool !
