At 2:11 Sunday morning, a fight occurred between Anthony Filler of Clune and Austin Grupp of Renfrew in the 700 block of Philadelphia Street. Police charged Grupp with simple assault and disorderly conduct, as was Filler who was charged also with harassment.

Around 2 AM Saturday morning, borough police witnessed Sebastion Winton of Greensburg assault an identified male in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street. Tyler Varriano-Milan was also witnessed fighting and striking another identified male. Police approached and Winton and Varriano-Milan both fled and officers pursued. After a brief foot chase, both were taken into custody. Varriano-Milan was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct, as was Winton who was charged also with simple assault.

Police responded to the 700 block of Wayne Avenue around 4:30 Saturday morning for the theft on an electric foot scooter. The unknown suspect took the scooter as it was parked in front of the store. The suspect is described as a white male wearing tight blue jeans, a black t-shirt, a dark colored baseball cap and black shoes with a white design on the side. The scooter is a Razor E300, silver in color with an electric motor on the rear tire. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 357-2121.

Borough police responded to the 600 block of Philadelphia Street at 11:55 PM Saturday night for a report of theft and disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, 29-year-old Jeremiah Depass of Staten Island was found to be in a confrontation with security. Depass was taken into custody by police and charged with disorderly conduct, harassment, retail theft, and criminal mischief.

Borough police report an incident of marijuana possession. On September 4th at 2:17 AM, police stopped a vehicle driven by Richard Miller of Saltsburg for a traffic violation that occurred on South Taylor Avenue. Miller was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A criminal complaint has been filed at Magistrate Haberl’s office in Indiana.

State police report a hit-and-run incident in Burrell Township, and it became a DUI with an apparent drug overdose. It happened August 15th in a parking lot along Route 22 when a vehicle operated by 44-year-old Shane Hollibaugh of Huntingdon backed into another vehicle, smashing out its rear window. Hollibaugh fled the scene on 22, but then for some reason returned to the scene of the accident by traveling westbound in the east bound lane. It turned out his passenger, 34-year-old Ashley Shade of Huntingdon, was suffering from an overdose and she was taken by ambulance to the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Police found eighty stamp bags of heroin in Shade’s purse and wallet. Hollibaugh was arrested for driving under the influence and Shade for possession of a controlled substance.

Police report an assault involving two young boys on September 1st along North 5th Street Extension in White Township. A 12-year-old approached a 13-year-old intending to fight him, and when he was about five feet away, he pulled a knife. When the other boy saw the knife, he fled. Police say the suspect then put the knife and two other knives he had in a white plastic bag and hid it underneath a fence on school property near the Indiana High School football stadium.
