Was a seamless rental process from start to finish. Randy & Carol easy to reach during planning and the stay. They meet you at the house upon arrival and their pride in their place is obvious! After a brief orientation, off they went and we promptly hopped into the pool. And pretty much never left it. The heater and the cover kept it toasty so our 3-year old guest and her (very pregnant) mom were in it almost every day. (We were too.) Kitchen supplied well- we did turkey and dressing one night and all we had to add was a throwaway roasting pan and a baster to the supplies. We are a cooking family and the only thing I would bring next time would be a couple of additional cutting boards. The grocery store in Belle was good for basics-meat, milk, produce, dairy, etc. We adored the outdoor kitchen, and cooked and ate all the rest of our dinners out there while watching the amazing sunsets. One chilly night, we followed a sunset swim (admiring the pool light show) with ice cream in front of the fireplace in the pool house. Enjoyed the fire pit for s’mores another night. The 3-yr old caught her first fish, and several others were caught and released. She also brought her "critter cage" and she caught a grasshopper, ladybugs, and a GIANT walking stick. Amazingly they survived several days with fresh "food" (grass.) She wanted to bring them home with her but her mom & dad told her their families would be sad without them so she let them hop/fly off to their homes before we left. Loved all the attention to landscaping; summer flowers fading but mums either in bloom or ready to bloom! And the butterflies were everywhere! We were looking for relaxing place for a week and Big Oak Lodge more than fit the bill. We would love to come back with the new family member, and see this gem in another season. (Of course, that would mean no pool.) But maybe the giant tub in the master bath would satisfy the youngsters.) Thanks for sharing this house. GIve Belle, Missouri a try.
