The Raxiom Footwell Lighting Kits are going to be for the S550 owner out there looking to get a more customized interior look for the pony, offered in a couple of different options out there with the red, white or blue LED options to fit everyone’s preference.

The Raxiom Footwell Lighting Kit is definitely going to be geared a little more toward the car show guys out there, getting that customized interior look for when you open up your doors at a car show or local car meet or anything big like that. It’ll definitely be geared towards you guys but not exclusive to. Now the other guys out there looking just for some kind of interior customization for when you open up your doors or when you hit the key fob you should definitely check this out as well.

So, these Footwell Lighting Kits from Raxiom offer two LED bonding strips, as you can see here, obviously in the color of your choice. One would be for the passenger side one for the driver side that will mount up underneath the dashboard. Now underneath the dashboard, you’re gonna be mounting them using the 3M bonding tape that is coming pre-applied to the back of each strip for added convenience.

So, coming off the back of each LED strip you’ll notice there are two wires, one black, one red. Now obviously the red is gonna be your positive or your power wire and the black you’ll see a ring terminal here for your ground, which will install right inside of the kick panel.

Everything you see on the table in front of me is everything you’ll get when you open up that box at home. You’ll get the two LED strips with the color of your choice with the wiring attached. You’ll get an alcohol wipe just to make sure you’re cleaning the area properly before applying the 3M tape. To promote that bonding strip, you’ll get the alcohol promoter for automotive applications. You’ll also get a quick splice connector to make sure you’re getting the wiring correct, and to hold all that wiring down, a couple of zip ties.

Installation wise, it’s definitely something anybody can do with a little bit of time in the driveway at home. You’ll want to have a couple of common hand tools on hand including a ratchet and socket set or an adjustable wrench and a pair of pliers.

Now to kick things off for the install, you wanna start on the passenger side front seat by feeding the drivers side wiring through the gap under the dashboard. Once you do that all you have to do is decide on a mounting position. Obviously you want to keep that away from the pedals for safety reasons.

So, once you get your spot decided on for the LED strip, you wanna make sure you’re picking up the alcohol wipes to make sure you’re cleaning the area properly to get that good 3M tape bonding. If it’s not cleaned properly and free of all debris and dust it might not get a good bond. Once you use those alcohol wipes, you can pick up the automotive adhesive promoter and make sure you’re putting a little bit on the area that you did decide on and then you could stick that strip in place, repeating the process for the opposite side of the vehicle.

Now for the wiring aspect of things, once you’ve figured out where you want your LED strips to go, you wanna head over to the passenger side and lift up that dorsal plate to gain access to the kick panel. Once you get in the kick panel, you can remove the bolt with a 10mm socket, attach the ring terminal from the black wire on your LED strip to that bolt, reinstall the nut and tighten it down.

From here, you wanna locate the black connector with the blue bar running across it, lift up that blue bar to disconnect that bottom connector. Next, you wanna locate the gray wire with the purple stripe and place it into your quick splice wiretap and pinch it down properly. Once it’s pinched down, you could take the red connecting wire from your LEDs and plug it into the back of the wiretap and you’re all set with that part.

From here, you could shut that blue bar, make sure everything is connected there. Make sure everything is running properly by using your key fob and opening and closing your doors with the lights on just to make sure the LEDs are functioning properly. If not, you may need to revisit some part of the installation. But if they are, you’re ready to put everything back together again, and you’re good to go.

Overall you’re looking at spending about an hour on the install, which isn’t too bad. I would definitely give this a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, making it something anybody with some proper hand tools can do in the driveway at home.

So just to quickly wrap things up, guys, if you’re the owner of a 2015 or newer Mustang and you’re looking for an easy way to get some interior customization with some LED custom lighting, you might wanna check out the Raxiom Footwell Lighting Kit in either the red, blue or white LED options, always available right here at AmericaMuscle.com.
