My sister and I rented this cabin over Christmas and brought our four kids. Tone and his wife were very accommodating and readily available if we needed them. They had the gas heaters on so the cabin was warm when we arrived and Mrs. Nichol’s even spent about a half hour helping us figure out how to work the cable TV. We spent our time hiking at Table Rock State Park and just hanging out at the cabin playing board games watching Christmas movies. We were able to make smores and the kids and our dog had fun running around outside. The kitchen is really fully stocked and we didn’t really need anything. The only issue we ran into was that both gas heaters stopped working our last night there. I’m not sure how ‘gas’ heat works but it’s almost as if we ran out of gas. Because it took 2hrs to cook a pecan pie that night as well and we woke up the next morning with no hot water. Thankfully the electric heaters still worked and we had plenty of blankets to keep us warm. We didn’t make a big deal because it was our last night, we just wanted to make sure we didn’t break anything! lol. Now the cabin truly is rustic but we loved it! And yes you can hear critters at night but that’s kind of what we were looking for in our getaway. This is no ‘luxury’ stay at the Hilton. All together it was very warm and cozy and we felt right at home. We can’t wait to come back and visit during the summer. I can only imagine how beautiful it is during that time of year. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!! 🙂
