hi everyone! I’m also a victim of PTB. It was dicovered when I took a medical bound to Taiwan last Dec. 2008. So I took another opinion at St. Lukes Hospital and had another xray (result with minimal scar at upper right) and sputum test (result is negative). To make it short, I took 6 months medication starting jan. 2009 and was told by the doctor that im treated and ok to work. Because of my fear to get rejected, I turned down the job bound to Bahrain even though I already passed the interview. Now I was accepted again for Abu Dhabi and I told them about my PTB history. Agency medical clinic result is clear but I took another xray at St. Lukes and the scar is still there. So I turned down again the opportunity but the employer wants me to still try to go there as tourist and try to have the xray there. If its ok, then they will give the residence visa, if not, I go back here. Air fare and visa will be at my expense.

I’m so confused if I’ll go and try or not cause it would just be a waste of time and money. After reading all your comments, can someone give me a direct advise? Please? I dont want to leave my work here then just get rejection in Abu Dhabi. But lets all be happy at least we’re treated.

I am also TB victim. The very first time I cough out blood I was so scared and try to deny it. I was in the school when it happened. Then my friend as well as my professor told me to go to the nearest hospital(which is UST) because our school clinic is already closed. Then I was diagnose with PTB. It just last march. And i was graduating that time and the doctor said that it would be better for me to skip one semester. But it just me who was really determine to graduate. I skip classes as often as the situation could permit. My friend had been part of these. They helped me a lot. After all of these sacrifices, at last, I finished my BSN last May. My treatment still going on. I was really hopeless about what will happen next. Most of my classmates and friends already had jobs. They told me when will i start to apply since our board exam will be on December. My original plan was after graduation I will be applying for a part time job while reviewing for the board exam. But TB ruined all. My others plans too. Since i know about TB scar, it added to my worries. Until I read all your stories i gained much hope. i hoping for a MIRACLE too. May GOD have mercy on us all. Pray for me guys.

we all have desame goal..to go abroad..to free for descrimanation of our desease..im also a victim of ptb..i got my result yesterday..my doctor said that im fit to enroll..btw im a student..and it happens that my course is related on xray..based of what ive learned now to my xray education there are two proces of developing the film..the manual which is you need to use the darkroom and it will appear the images for a few minutes, and the other one is the filmless which no need to use a film..when the xray emits to the patient body the image will be directed imediately to the computer..and the good thing of this filmless is you can manipulate the image by the way of adjusting the brightness and darkness or shall we say a photoshop..therefore we ptb patient have a chance to hide.. our scars to the radiologist who read the xray image result..but this kind of technique must have a guts to bribe the radiographer whos responsible taking of images..BUT prayers is the best way to hide and fade our scars..GOD HEAL US!!!
