Slightly disappointing – review of hilton puerto vallarta resort, puerto vallarta – tripadvisor electric utility companies charge customers for

Service quality in the buffet area was poor, which was quite different from our previous experience. At breakfast, the bacon sausage is now kept by the cook at the omelette station (obviously electricity for beginners as a cost control). Bacon was generally burnt, and terrible. When a table inside or outside the buffet area was re-set for a new guest, any leftover cutlery was not swapped out if it appeared to be clean (no telling if someone sneezed, coughed or used the pieces). We were never asked if we wanted more coffee. Otherwise omelettes were delicious, fruit was of good quality and temperature of hot dishes was fine.

We ate at the Sushi Lounge twice, food was tasty but service again was somewhat poor. We often went to the beach snack bar for hamburgers or nachos – the food was fine, but if we’d taken the food to the pool or beach we were… This was our second 10-day stay at this resort y gasset, previous one was February 2017. Hotel was again extremely clean, housekeeping was top notch. We were generally disappointed in both the service, and the buffet. In general, service on both the beach and at the pool was infrequent, and we still seemed to wait quite a while before getting our drinks. Staffing levels seemed similar to our previous trip, as did the occupancy level at the hotel. However, we only recognized one staff member from our previous trip. We ate at the Sushi Lounge twice, food was tasty but service again was somewhat poor. We often went to the beach snack bar for hamburgers or nachos – the food was fine, but if we’d taken the food to the pool or beach we were the ones returning the dirty dishes (I don’t have a problem with that, but I was surprised that none of the staff had offered to do it for us). We did not eat dinner at any of the À la Carte restaurants this trip, so cannot comment on them. There were a few exceptions to the service, and we received good service and attention from Franky, Gabriel Salvador on the beach, Angel at the coffee bar, George in the lobby (luggage). As I noted, housekeeping was outstanding (Marisela). These staff members always gas number recognized us with a smile often a handshake (especially from Franky Angel), and they made us feel at home. For reference – we always tip all service staff well, and regularly throughout the day. Our impression, overall, is that while the hotel is still exceptionally clean (as you’d expect from a Hilton), the lower service levels are likely a result of cost-cutting measures. I think next time we return to Puerto Vallarta we’ll be trying a different resort. More Show less

I have been to many hotels in Puerto Vallarta. This was our first Tim at the Hilton. Let me start by saying electricity transformer near house that there was four of us that travelled here. Two stayed at the Hilton and two at The Hilton Hacienda the connected property. This review is only for the Hilton. I stayed here from February 20-24th, 2019. The Hilton is an overall smaller property that is modern and super nice. This is a family hotel and there are kids on this property. If you want adults only stay at the Hilton Hacienda. The staff was very accommodating and on point. I’ll review a couple of areas including property, food, staff and things that need improvement for an overall excellent rating. Property: The property was very very nice. It was modern design. The pool was amazing. The pool at the sushi bar on the 6th floor is for adults only but was super amazing. The property is all e payment electricity bill up beach front. Our room was 645, that had a view of the pool and beach. Super nice! If you stay in any of the Hilton rooms you have to put your room key in the slot at the entrance to activate electricity. Americans are not use to this so make sure your aware. Food: I saw mixed reviews in this online. My experience was the the Buffet was good! It was a happy mix that did not disappoint. Know the down times so you don’t go when they are closed. We also tried two of the five places to eat here. All require reservations and have a dress code with the exception of the sushi bar and grade 9 current electricity test buffet. We had the French and Italian. French was excellent and Italian just did not impresses. Not horrible but not great. Staff: Most spoke English and Spanish and were very honest about everything. Overall the staff was excellent. Improvements: The WiFi was to say politely was horrible. It constantly kicked electricity dance moms choreography you off and would not stay connected. We have Verizon cell phone service and there was zero reception in lobby and limited service on remainder of property. Though the cellphone service is not the hotels issues the WiFi service can definitely be improved. Over all the property was excellent!
