Steelville log cabin with 1 bedroom flipkey gas estimator

I was going to visit a friend in CO that fell through and I knew I needed to get-a-way. So lucky for me I found this cabin on Google and could stay for a few nights with a friend. It is the ultimate get-a-way place to relax and rejuvenate. It is a little gem in the woods. I am a dinosaur and follow maps. Thurman road does not have a street sign so I missed finding it a couple of times. I could have called Cindy in advance and it would not have been an issue. If you know to turn by the Scott Ford sign or the big yellow Adventures sign, it is a piece of cake. On the plus side, I discovered the quaint town of Steelville. However, Cindy is wonderful to help with questions and directions upon request.

Cindy and her husband are so nice and let you alone unless you need them. It is pet friendly and I could take my golden retriever who hung out with Sunny, the resident lab. The cabin is new and clean and just the right size for one or two. We took our half and half and other snack foods that fit nicely in the refrigerator. A big bag of ice fit into the freezer. We made coffee and sat in the rockers on the front porch in the morning and looked over the country road at the cows. Cindy brought our breakfast a little later in the morning as we requested and everything was delicious and home made. You can’t go without having her French toast. I can’t imagine missing out on her breakfasts in the morning. We had 3 different breakfasts for each of the 3 mornings and everything is homemade and delicious.

The river is one mile and the water was clear: my dog had so much fun playing. There is a quaint winery about 5 miles away. We had such a fun time in the throw back town of Steelville: It is just the right size with enough stores and not overwhelming. We ate at a local restaurant with fabulous food. Everyone in Steelville is friendly. There is a grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, shops and anything one could need.

We enjoyed the hot tub at night, viewing the moon behind the pine tree. I also received 2 massages from Cindy which were so relaxing and therapeutic. I’ve booked the cabin for 3 more weekends this year and plan to take my 2 grandchildren one weekend, a friend another when there is music at the winery, and go alone for one. This is just what I have been looking for: an easy drive from Springfield and yet feels like I took a long drive to get far away from my normal routine.

If you are looking for a get-a-way from the hustle and stress, this is the place to go. I plan to take a little hike in the woods behind the cabin one of these visits if I can tear myself away from a good book and the rocking chair. There is a couch that very easily converts to a bed and the satellite TV is very good reception, although I watched only for a short time before bed.

I read a couple reviews about the mattress not being comfortable but I thought it was divine and I slept so good. It is a firm mattress, although I would not say overly firm. It felt the same as all the mattresses I sleep on in nice hotels and also mine at home.

It is on a rural road and has semi- close neighbors(the owners), and is in a wooded area with rolling hills. There is a pasture with cows across the road, which was fun. The owners adorable lab would stop by for visits, and was very sweet and well-behaved.

The cabin is practically brand new and just beautiful and cozy. It was better than described in the profile. It had all the stuff you need to make great meals. We grilled at night and made breakfast in the skillet. The hot tub was awesome. The television was a nice flat screen and there was a good selection of movies to choose from in the cabin. There were even board games, puzzles, and a chess table.

The bed was comfortable, the shower had great hot water pressure, and the front porch was large and had a couch and table. The back porch also had a table, the bbq (including all the tools and charcoal you’d need to start a fire) and the hot tub. I really couldn’t have been happier. I hope to be back in the future. Thank you Cindy and Don!

We really enjoyed our overnight stay in this cute and cozy little cabin. Cindy was a pleasure to deal with. Reservations were a breeze. Directions were easy to follow. It is out in the country, but only about 15 min. or so to the closest little town. We brought our food with to cook for dinner. There is a charcoal grill, toaster oven, electric frying pan and a microwave. There is also a small fridge. There is a tv, but no cable, so bring some Dvds with. There were also some provided. We made steaks on the grill. We sat in the wonderful and relaxing hot tub. Loved the tiki lights on the deck. We took advantage of the breakfast option provided. We had the spinach, bacon and mushroom quiche. It was delicious! It came with fresh fruit and muffins. There was also oj in the fridge and a coffee maker. Totally worth the extra money!! Overall, we had such a wonderful and relaxing time at this cute cabin. The only reason it didn’t get the highest mark was because of the mattress. It just wasn’t comfortable to us. To be fair, we have a memory foam mattress at home. It is hard for us to get comfy on any other mattress, because of that. That was the only negative for us. Everything else was amazing! Thanks so much for letting us stay at your little cabin!
