Stephen curry says he feels better every game he plays gas finder mn

“It’s hard to say, to be honest,” he said. “In my mind, when I’m out there, I feel like I’m playing as if and I have the mindset as if I’m all the way back. But your body obviously sometimes has a mind of its own. For the most part, as long as my mind is telling me I can keep going, I can do what I want to do on the floor, I’m not really thinking about my knee, none of that stuff, that’s a win for me. I just let the natural process of integrating myself back into the game take place. As long as we keep having games, I’ll keep getting better.”

Curry said that Warriors’ head performance therapist Chelsea Lane has been “amazingly instrumental” in getting him back onto the court. He’s seen much more of her than he would’ve liked this season after suffering four right ankle injuries followed by the knee injury.

“It’s not just about the physical aspect of it, but the mental aspect of it,” Curry said. “… Her amazing experience and knowledge of how the body works, but also getting you in the right frame of mindset so you can deal with being out, you can deal with the monotony of rehab.”

“She’s honest about how she sees things,” Curry said of Lane. “You might disagree with it. That happens, but at the end of the day, we all trust her and our whole staff has our best interest when it comes to getting us back on the court at the right time, in the right shape. Whether we like it or not. Whether you’ve got to miss one game in a playoff series when you woke up that day thinking that you’re going to play. You’ve got to have the big picture involved, and that’s what her job entails is making sure that’s always first and foremost.”

When he was cleared to play in Game 2 against the Pelicans, he dazzled, finishing with 28 points on 53.3 percent shooting, seven rebounds and two assists. In Game 3, when the excitement and jitters wore off, he struggled a bit, finishing with 19 points on 31.6 percent shooting. And then in Game 4, he had 23 points on 47.1 percent shooting.

“Injuries are part of the game, you can’t really think about it too much,” Curry said. “Maybe on a possession or two, not go in the paint or something like that. Make sure I’m not among the trees too much. But other than that, you just play basketball the way you know how. Play hard. When you play hard and you have the right intentions about the game, most of the time you’re going to be all right. Obviously, freak injuries happen, but you can’t go into a game worrying about injuries, it’s just part of the game.”

“I’ve thought about that a little bit,” Curry said. “Not really, just because when you deal with injuries it takes a little bit out of you, honestly. You come back having fresh legs per se, but there’s a little give and take there when you’re not playing.”

“All I know is right now I feel pretty good when it comes to getting over the knee injury and building up my endurance to get back to where I was before I got hurt,” Curry said. “And with a month or hopefully six weeks or seven weeks left in the season, I think I should be able to get to the finish line.” Related Articles
