The only option with a dog to travel by ferry from uk to spain – traveller reviews – brittany ferries – tripadvisor electricity words

First the good points – we would not have traveled by ferry had there not been pet friendly cabins, and our experience on this front was very good. The cabin was perfectly adequate and equipped as you might expect, and did not smell (we had been warned they did). The facilities for dogs were fine, and the 2 night crossing, although in anticipation stressful for static electricity review worksheet owners, actually was fine. The crew were at times rather officious in controlling dog movements on the boat (inevitably subverted by sensible owners) but the whole experience was good.

The boat itself, however, was something of a disappointment, and compares poorly with the Pont Aven. It is a smaller boat, which is evident in the limited on board facilities. The food options are also limited and expensive. The a la carte dining menu was small, and although the quality was fine, it was pretty expensive. The other food options were frankly poor, both in terms of quality and price. The boat staff were on the whole friendly, but the Pont Aven just had a friendlier feel to it (perhaps that’s because most of the passengers when we have been on it were… We traveled from Portsmouth to Bilbao in a pet friendly cabin. In the past we have astrid y gaston lima reservations frequently made the crossing from Cork to Roscoff on the Pont Aven (without a dog) and it provides our point of reference for judging the Cap Finistere. At the moment we are not sure we will use this route again for traveling to Spain. It cuts out the long drive through France from the tunnel, but the journey time of 2 nights electricity and magnetism purcell mitigates the benefit of that, and you also loose on the pleasure of good meals and interesting diversions. The fare was considerable and was probably rather more expensive than the tunnel fare + fuel through France + hotel costs. If avoiding the drive matters, and you are traveling with a pet, then this is an acceptable option. If you are not traveling with a pet, however, then this is a poor option – there are better ferry services. More Show less

Travelling with Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth to Caen can usually be a pleasant experience but as of today my opinion has drastically change. Our booking is pre-booked for me and my husband and on arrival to collect gas 47 cents our tickets we were told that we would have to share a cabin with another couple or come back at 9pm to collect our tickets if there was availability as the ferry was very busy tonight. This seems to mean that we would be moved to the freight wait list although I am not sure that this is the case, but probably a possibility as others were opting to come back for their tickets at 9pm. I feel it is disgusting of Brittany v gashi 2012 Ferries to permit a male passenger freight driver to share a cabin with a female passenger freight driver who are infact strangers. That’s like asking a woman to share her bedroom and use the mens toilet and shower! I don’t know how this would work if a female child was travelling onboard with their freight driver father??? We were asked to do this on a previous occasion and the other couple failed to show at the booked cabin and so we hardly got any sleep that night. I was informed after this event that Brittany Ferries are not allowed to put a female in with another unknown male. For a freight driver this is extremely important as getting enough sleep is paramount. I think Brittany Ferries should review their policy on this (that’s if they have one?) as I was told by other male passengers that this was not permitted. So, is it permitted or not? I can’t seem gas tax in ct to find any answers on the Brittany Ferries website either. Not to mention that when I queried it with the gentleman on the Brittany Ferries desk the poor man never got a chance to answer because the young lady sat in the chair next to him very rudely interupted and sternly announced We are allowed to do it! That’s fine if Brittany Ferries has this in their policy but I think this should be made perfectly clear on their website not to mention that a bit of friendly customer service wouldn’t go amiss now would it? I am quite happy to share a cabin with a couple who are known to me personally but I find it offensive to tell me that I have to share a cabin with another male freight driver who is infact a stranger. Would they put a single male freight driver in with us? and if not why would they put a male driver in with us even if he was with a female driver. I wonder if the gas jet size chart young lady on the Brittany Ferries desk would like to share a cabin under these circumstances? I think NOT! I also understand that we can ask to upgrade our cabin to private use for a fee subject to availability. Why should gas definition science I have to do this and pay to not share with an unknown man?

Dear ‘Traice G’, Thank you for posting your recent review. I am sorry to hear of your disappointment on your recent freight crossing. We do not wish for our freight customers to have unexpected problems onboard, which is why such issues as berths should be discussed during the booking process. We allow for the carriage of up to 2 bona fide drivers to be included in the freight fare on cross-channel services. Under our freight tariff conditions which can be found on our freight website, it clearly states that “The reservation of the driver/co-driver comprises availability of a berth in a shared 4 berth cabin. No exclusivity of cabin use can be guaranteed for driver/co-driver under any circumstances”. Please accept my apologies if this was not made clear to you at the time of booking. For future freight travel, if you remain unhappy at the likelihood of having to share with another couple, please contact freight reservations UK on 0871 244 0900 or email freight.reservations@brittanyferries.com who will be happy to discuss alternative options with you. We have used Brittany Ferries for nearly 11 years now and on most occasions it has been reliable, friendly and pleasant. However this year has certainly put me off. We were sailing Caen/Portsmouth both ways on Normandy. The outward journey was reasonable however the inward was atrocious and appalling. There was a delay of over an hour which might’ve been ok on a crossing that got in midday but this now meant we would not be at home which was a 2 hours drive from the port until 1:30am- I dread to think how much worse it would be for someone who lived further away. We were not informed appropriately of this delay and not kept informed. The excuse which Brittany Ferries came up with was a busy load. I’m sorry but how could electricity in india they not have foreseen that this would be the busiest week on a busy crossing- this was the general buzz and dominated French traffic reports! They had electricity distribution losses ample time to prepare-they know how many cars are coming and staff appeared to not have any control of the packing. It was very slow and unstructured unlike the usual efficiency provided by the company. I might also mention that we decided not to ever eat again onboard mainly because the food is extortionate and disgusting and there’s no good BF saying this isn’t up to their usual high standards-on all the ocaasions we have eaten onboard it has been foul. Eat before you go onboard and bring a picnic. If you eat onboard, go to the cafe as the food is nicer there (if you’re prepared to que for over an hour!) but avoid the self service restaurant at all costs-the pictures of food are very misleading. I also visited the cinema which kept me amused for 1.5 hours was very angry to find that when I got home that you could buy the z gas guatemala blu ray or DVD of it for little more than the cost of the ticket. Considering the films are described as being the ‘latest’ by BF , this is merely a money making sham. The ship was very overcrowded-The seating lounge was full of screaming children which is hell when you are exhausted and trying to get rest. All in all the crossing from hell.
