Toyota tacoma, step right in! – ar15.com q mart gas station

I have a 2011. I like it. I don’t like the gas mileage. It’s pathetic. I’ve thought about buying a new one, but I can’t justify the cost. I also don’t like the stuff I hear about the 6 speed and the new 3.5V6. I thought both options were poor, and the reviews have been shitty.

Ford can put a 2.7L turbo motor in a FULL size truck and get better power and gas mileage than the Tacoma. The new Ranger will have a more powerful and likely more efficient motor as well. I really enjoy the smaller size of the Tacoma, but honestly, at this point, I’d probably just buy an F-150. None of the off-roading I do couldn’t be done by a fullsize.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: Toyota has rested on it’s laurels for almost 10 years. They really hyped up the Tacoma refresh, and it fell flat. Now they are talking about a new Tundra/4runner refresh… and ya know what, I bet the 4 runner gets the same motor/trans combo as the tacoma. The tundra will probably get 20 hwy with class average HP/TQ numbers, and will be lauded by Toyota as a big deal. It’s bullshit, and in this era of reliability amongst all manufacturers not named Dodge… it’s a slap in the face to consumers. I wonder how many shitty refreshes it will take before the mystique of "Toyota" wears off and people realize they don’t offer anything the other brands don’t.
