Two story beachfront house in playa samara … – vrbo gas vs electric water heater savings

This is a charming two-story house right on the beach in Playa Samara. This is proof of what they say are the 3 most important characteristics in choosing real estate… location, location, location! The patio on the first level is paradise- whether you’re swinging in a hammock or rocking in a chair, you’re in the right place for ocean breezes and relaxation.

Both bedroom units have an air conditioner to make sure you’re comfortable. Each floor has a private entrance and patio/balcony, private bedroom with queen bed, bathroom, living area, pull out double trundle bed and full kitchen with all of the necessary appliances.

If you’re looking for a tropical paradise getaway, with all of the conveniences of home, this is the place for you! There is not a house closer to the beach than this! The location is perfect, as you are not in the downtown area with all the night life keeping you awake at night. We’re just 3/4 mile east of the town and all of the stores and restaurants.

Security is important to me and my guests- every window and door has security bars (either inside or outside), as most of my guests are not familiar with staying in foreign countries outside of hotel grounds. Another layer of security is CCTV cameras pointing at the inside and outside of the 3 access doors, which you can turn off by clicking a switch. You can view the cameras on a monitor in the lower kitchen. It is all for your security and peace of mind during your stay.

The house is about 2 hours from the Liberia Airport (LIR) and and about 4.5 hours from the San Jose Airport (SJO), all depending on traffic conditions, weather, etc. A rental car is recommended, but not necessary. If you want a shuttle from the airport, many of my guests have used Carrillo Tours with total satisfaction.

Cancellation Deposit Refund Policy: If a reservation is made and you wish to cancel, your security deposit will be refunded as follows: More than 90 days prior to intended occupancy date- 100%, 60- 89 days 75%, 30-59 days 50%, Less than 30 days you do not get any refund of your deposit. There are no exceptions! Your $200 Damage Deposit will be 100% refunded if home and property is left undamaged. You will only be charged a cleaning fee if the property is left a mess or excessively dirty, and the fee will be based on the additional work needed.

Brett’s place is everything you could want in a Costa Rican beach house. First, it’s right on the water–at high tide you can practically dive from the second floor into the waves. And what a beautiful stretch of beach it is, with fantastic sunrise and sunset views and warm safe water for daily swims. The house is on the quiet end of the beach, which means often we were the only ones visible within a half mile. But the town of Samara, and its funky shops and awesome restaurants and bars is less than a mile walk along the water, so you don’t need a car (though we were happy to have one to take day trips to nearby beaches and drive for groceries). The house itself is simple but lovely, especially the upstairs with its wood floors and high ceilings. The bedrooms are air-conditioned, which we were glad of in the hot month of March, but there’s a great cross breeze through the main areas of the house and screens everywhere. Often that was enough to keep us cool. There are two kitchens and sleeping for four both upstairs and down, so it would be a great set-up for two families sharing. The beds are comfortable, the place was spotless when we arrived, and the property manager Melissa was very helpful with anything we needed. Internet worked great throughout the house, and the water was hot, both luxuries I did not expect. The upstairs and downstairs porches were great places to hang out, listen to the ocean, and watch birds, monkeys, and jealous tourists (who wished they had our sweet set-up) go by. We had the reservations for a year, and throughout it, Brett was great about communicating and answering questions. To be clear, this is a simple beach home, not a luxury resort property–and frankly, in our opinion, that’s what makes it so perfect. Pura Vida!

This is one of the few ocean-front homes available in Playa Samara. Just steps from your door to the warm Pacific Ocean. Far enough from downtown that you don’t hear the noise on Holidays, but close enough to walk to for your daily meals. The local area around the house is an old fishing neighborhood called Matapalo. There is a local fish market, and some fishermen and families still live there. Going to the home you will pass through this area- it is not a wealthy area (behind my house). But all of that is left behind when you enter the home and open the doors to the spectacular porch and ocean-front setting. I don’t try to make the house sound to be any more than it is- a simple house with an INCREDIBLE ocean-front location, only walking distance away from fun downtown shopping/restaurant area. This is considered a "Tico beach town" (Tico is a friendly term for Costa Rican‘s) , where the Ticos prefer to visit and spend their vacations, instead of "touristy" beach towns like Flamingo and Tamarindo.
