Volcano villarrica – summit chile, pucon traveller reviews – tripadvisor gas after eating bread

We came across Summit Chile while in Pucon while looking for guides to summit the Volcano. Upon entering the store which is not on the Main Street so not one you would jut stumble upon walking down O’Higgins, we were greeted by Suzi (owner). She was not only incredibly helpful with info on the Volcano trek but also on places to eat and visit around Pucon. We chatted with this fellow Canadian and signed up for the hike for the next day.

The trek was amazing, the entire time Claudio kept is entertained , sharing history of the area, mountaineering techniques and constant attention to our needs. Other operators electricity flows through had groups of 24-25 clients in a big line with little to no direction. Nearing the top of the ascent Claudio made us put on our crampons for added safety (many other operators did not). It made the remainder of the climb easy and safe!

After lunch at the top, we were briefed on the descent via walking and sliding on a plastic sacer device. The longest toboggan ride of my life!! We arrived at the shop at 630am and met the two guides. Claudio (owner) and Carlos. There was only 4 clients including myself and friend. This small group proved to be one of the factors that contributed to added safety and a personalized experience. The entire trek up the Volcano was an incredible experience. The guides and experience Summit Chile provided was the best I have had in the works. You can see the professionalism and joy Claudio has for the mountains and his clients. His attention to detail and safety also shows why he is one of a few certified international mountain guides in the country! I will recommend Summit Chile to anyone looking for a safe professional and fun guide service in Pucon. Incredible!!! More Show less

My partner and I have climbed Volcan Villarrica about 5 times between the two of us and with 3 different companies, and this was by far the best experience we have had. We regularly visit the area with large groups of exchange students so we are always on the look out for the best guiding service for our groups, and we had heard good things about Summit Chile so we decided gas 85 to give them a try when our usual tour company didn’t have enough spots for all of our students. The guide to climber ratio was great–10 climbers with 4 guides, and not only that, but all of the guides were clearly very experienced, conscious of all safety precautions, and loved what they were doing (and I cannot say that about the other tour companies). We appreciated the fact that one guide led, another followed behind, and two guides constantly monitored the progess of the group by walking alongside climbers and offering suggestions and monitoring the group pace. All of the guides shared the philosophy that the experience should be fun, safe, and not leave you completely exhausted at the end of the day, whereas some other companies tend to take pride in arriving first at the top of the mountain or doing the climb in the shortest time possible. All other aspects were great–coordinating the visit, the high-quality equipment, transportation to and from our cabins at no extra cost, and even a free trip up the rock wall outside. Highly recommend Summit Chile; we will work with them again on any future group visits to Pucon.

We did the Villarica Volcano trek with Claudio in December 2013. The experience could not have been better. Claudio is one of the best (or maybe gas oil ratio 50 to 1 the best) guide for the Volcano. I was a bit concerned about managing the ascent as it gets pretty steep and tiring towards the top but we trekked slowly, with stops for water, and before we knew it we had summited. We saw groups from other companies looking a lot more tired because of the faster pace they kept. Our group size was small, about 10 people, and there were two other guides besides Claudio. While guiding us uphill, Claudio also gave us a lot of information on Volcanoes, the geography of the area, little trivia about the people and that made the trek even more interesting. While other guides hurried back down after the trek, we sat around on top for a good hour, chatting with Claudio and enjoying our little picnic. The best part about this trek was the downhill slide. It is one of the funnest things I’ve done as an adult. We sat on our tgas advisors buttocks and slid down the entire height of the volcano on soft snow, tumbling and rolling all over the place. I highly recommend this activity and Summit Chile. They do an exceptional job. A quick point about the price – The price this company charges is slightly (a tiny bit) higher than its competitors but totally worth it. You’ll be in safe hands and that’s what matters on a trek like this

I was impressed with Summit Chile’s quality and professionalism every step of the way – on the hardware side – their equipment is top notch, and it shows – while climbing the Villarica volcano our group was better equipped and was therefore able to move faster than c gastronomie brignais most others. Our gear didn’t leak and didn’t smell. As soon as we got back, it was taken to get washed and cleaned. On the soft side – Summit Chile is a class act all the way. They show they really care. From the moment Suzi, who runs the office, gave me the most updated tips on the phone and via email about how to get from Temuco to Pucon (saving me time and money in doing so), until she took care to fit me with a helmet that is perfect for my head. From the moment Claudio, our tour guide came to pick me up from my hard-to-find hostel exactly on time (because he had made sure he found the place the night before), and until he went out of his way to track down a camera lens cap one of us let fall on a slippery icy slope. The place is organized and reliable. They pay attention to detail. They’re truly professional. I wish there were more of them in other strategic spots in Latin America.
